Does anyone have a recommendation for front brake pads and a good/affordable place to buy them? I have a 2004 xb12s. My local Harley shop wants $65 for them but that sounds very overpriced. Thanks. |

EBC's, HH pads work well for me. Have for many bikes, including two Buells. Mike |

Love the Lyndall Golds + carbon kevlar that I purchased through americansportbike.com. If I remember right they were around 50 1/2 bucks. Much better than stock. Don't be surprised by price, this is one area you don't want to skimp on! |

I HATED the Lyndalls, but we all know about opinions... High rotor wear and feel like wood on track days. EBC, DP and SBS make great brakes (I like DP). I've heard great things about Vesrah, too. Brakes are cheap enough to mix and match to see what you like anyways... |

I ordered the EBC brake pads found here: http://www.kneedraggers.com/product/602847/EBC-Bra ke-Pads-Buell-XB12S-1200-Lightning I'm not sure why but they were only 31.95... much cheaper than I found anywhere else online. Do these look right? Thanks again guys. |

I like the Lyndall Golds very much. They have a nice feel on the street, and leave no deposits. |

brakes...who needs brakes just get a rope and a big brick tie it to the bike and throw the brick behind you when you wanna stop. on a serious note Kneedraggers.com is a respectable company I would say jump on this good price and if they are the wrong ones let them know and get your money back and nothing lost. |

I think you may have ordered the rear pads... $31.95 seems a bit cheap for front pads. The link doesn't specify whether they're front or rears, but the picture looks like rears to me... I buy a lot of my stuff from Al at American Sport Bike, here are links to prices he has for pads: front: http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/9059.html rear: http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/5431.html Good luck! |

I've got a pair of Ferodo's coming from Bluestreakracing.ca here in Canada. I've got a couple of questions about brakes. If this is a wrong place, tell me, I'll edit it out. Is there a way of seeing the wear groove without removing the brakes? Can somebody post a pic of newer front brake pad so I can see how much meat is on there? Mine is really thin. Thanks. |

The wear grooves should be pretty easy to see without taking anything apart. Here's a picture of my fairly new pads (maybe 600-700 miles on them): pads.http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/3197/imag0157p.jpg They're lyndall gold+ (Message edited by rudy on September 21, 2010) |

Rudy: thanks, I think that explains why I can't see the grooves. My pads don't have anywhere near that much material. It also explains the bad braking on my last ride. I'll wait for the pads before I ride again. |

Rudy, when I placed the order there was a drop down box and I chose front. I hope the right ones come my brake pads are shot and I have a big ride coming up! Thanks again. |
