I can tell you this, my bike ran like a raped ape at anything close to WOT and high RPM. However, off-idle response was terrible, and the bike idled rough and would die occasionally. I know there are LOTS of threads, most not on this board, where guys put weeks worth of work into their idle region maps. I may have to do that before I can tune the thing. My TPS is at 20 sitting closed, so maybe that is the problem?

TPS should be about 5.4% throttle closed.

I'd wear earplugs if my bike were electric. And no, I'm not old.

If your TPS is at 20% to have the bike idle, you have a problem for sure. Double check your reset procedure, and check to see if the TPS is falling off. Also check the throttle body and see if the plate is snug.

Mine runs 6.5-7.1% and AFV 104-110%. It's happy.

my stock hollowed pipe sounds good, but it still looks stock .i want the best look i can get,i think the d&d looked best thats why i bought it. my wife and i took a good trip this weekend and we loved it,our ears were not ringing,i was not tired, everything felt better.hope the race pipe is around the same loudness,i can live with that.

The race pipe is much quieter than the D&D pipe. IMO the race pipe is the best sounding pipe available for the xb, but it looks just like the stock pipe.

I'd love to get my hands on a D&D pipe. One of the best sounding mufflers from all the Buell's I've heard. But that's my opinion. I'm partial to a growling bike.

I've had a D&D on for almost 17K miles. I don't think it's too loud (as long as I keep my helmet on). After riding from Reno,NV to Yuma,AZ my ears wer'nt ringing anymore than they would have been from the stereo in my truck.

just put on the race pipe, sounds great,it is much faster than with the d&d, i thought it was breaking up because i never hit the rev limiter so fast.it sounds mean more like a ducatti than a straight pipe h/d. im happy now.

I wonder what the D&D would sound like with a couple small baffles installed?

Would it gain some bottom end torque back and still flow well at the top?
