Looking at a slightly used 2009 XB12SS. Are not both lights suppose to be on with the high beams? When I put the High beam, the lighted lamp just went from one side to the other, instead of both being on...what is up with that?

It comes stock as one beam only for each high and low, but the mod to have both beams on for high is crazy easy.

I am utterly in love with my 09 xb12ss!

When you turn the high beams on in your car, do the low beams turn off? Most cars, yes. Many bikes do the same.

just leave the switch in the halfway position, it leaves both lights on.

Hi guys - sorry to jump in on this tread...
But have a XB12Ss Question:

I'm living in Australia, currently have my original 2003 XB9s, Race ECM, Jardine RT1, K&N etc etc...

Looking at buying a XB12s 2009 model.
Have been looking at the performance upgrade available for this model..

The ECM for this bike, I have heard there are no Race ECM's available, ?? is this true.

I'm looking at getting the D&D Exhaust, K&N filter, but... if you add these will it not lean out the fuel mapping, if there a exhaust valve ?? The older model by adding the Race ECM it eliminated the need to alter much else...

If I'm not going to get much more HP from this is it really worth getting the XB12s.

How good is the XB12s 2009...
Would appreciate any advise or comments...
Cheers guys...

I have a d&d and k&n on my 09 xb12ss with the stock ecm and it runs excellent. I noticed the biggest difference when I added the d&d (also did the breather reroute and deleted the california canister at the same time)...much greater torque!

Mate, you're right. There currently is no ECM piggyback that will work on the 08 or 09 Buells.
Easiest way to fix that is to get Xopti to sort it out. Roughly the same cost as a PCIII/twin tuner etc, but the results do work.

Think about it before changing... The reasoning is solid.

Two lights looks like a car in the distance. Aka... cars might pull out in front of you more readily.

And one light looks like a car in the distance with a burned out bulb?
