Hey All,

I've been riding a 2005 Honda VTX 1300C, been thoroughly enjoying it but have my eyes on a 2010 Lightning XB12Ss... I can't find a review to save my life!! I know the '10 has only a couple cosmetic differences from '09, so any feedback from some riders of either year? I'm 6'2", so I know i'll need the long, I sat on it tonight and am test-riding tomorrow. They promise 3K off MSRP... I guess I'm just wondering if any other tall cruiser enthusiast have taken a similar step, but just in general, would love to get some reviews, pros AND cons appreciated. Thanks ALL!

Just bought a new 09 xb12ss to replace my xb9s . Im 6 foot tall and 170lbs. The bike is very smooth, comfortable and much roomier than my 9 (which wasnt bad). My girlfriend was extremely pleased with her two-up riding experience. She said "I never thought I could be this comfortable riding" ! Of course I have tortured her on the back of my xb9,Sportster bobber and my Honda XR650 off road pig. : )I wouldnt be afraid to ride the xb12ss cross country . By the way I paid $6700.00 for mine the weekend following H-D's idiotic closing of Buell. I think you will like it.

If you are looking for reviews, look at the 2007-08 XB12STT. It is the same bike, just different plastics. Take note that the 08 has a totally different fuel injection and lower half of the motor vs the 07. I haven't seen many reviews online for a 09+ SS, which is when they merged it with the STT.

My personal take? Its an awesome bike. The suspension is perfect on it. Soaks up the bumps without effort, and yet still is firm enough to handle well.

As for the changes to 2010, color selection, addition of a larger right side scoop and different fan programming. Also they have a different rear wheel with a new 3 bearing setup. All this can be retrofitted to the older bikes.
