I was noticing that the footpegs on the XB12X and XT are lower than on the SS. Does anyone know if it would be possible to lower the pegs on an SS. I realize that the brake pedal and shifter would have to be repositioned also, if it's possible. I've been studying pix of both bikes and it looks as if there are 2 different arms where the pegs bolt on, a shorter one for the SS and a longer one for the X/XT. Anyone know if these are interchangeable, unbolt one and bolt up the other.

Thanks

Yep, the different brackets bolt right up, but it gets expensive fast. The brackets alone are $300, then you still need footpegs, and then to get a Uly rear brake line, and Uly shifter linkage.

Look on Ebay. Really cheap you can get a 1" lower set of pegs. Easier and less expensive option.

Got a link? The stock pegs are already 1" drop.

There are some aftermarket pegs with more drop designed for the Uly that can be fitted.

I'm guessing here, but it looks like the Uly pegs are more than 1 inch lower than the SS pegs. Looks to me to be at least 2 inches. Might just be an optical illusion.
Hey Froggy, do u have a link to some of the lower pegs ur talking about?

View them from the 45 degree angle and you can see the drop on the Ss pegs a little better.

They are not. They are both the same drop. The Uly gets is extra drop from the bracket.

Could I unbolt the peg and brake pedal on the SS bracket, buy a Uly backet, and reinstall the peg and brake pedal onto the Uly bracket, then change out the SS brake cable to the Uly cable? I hope this makes sense. Of course then on the other side I think all I would need is a Uly bracket and a longer linkage to the shifter.

That pic is deceiving... The uly might be a little lower but not as low as the pic makes it seem. The peg has a silver drop which in the pic looks like the peg itself, when I first looked at it I thought it was the R pegs (no drop).

The Lightning pegs will not bolt onto the Uly brackets, but otherwise yes everything you mentioned will work.

We are trying to solve this issue by making inch lower pegs for the ss. Have a machinist working it now. Between this and the single seat should be about the two inch difference...

Cbig, Please keep us posted on this. I did the Uly frame brackets on my STT and would like to find a cheaper work around for the wifes bike when I find her one.

Murf-
ongoing...
Precision is nice but the pegs are a dirt bike style and want your feet flat. That won't work.
