I am seeking some photos of Bad Web'ers using raised bars on their Firebolts.

I am aware of 3 possible solutions so far namely the universal style Bar Risers for clip ons, Crossroad Bars and LSL superbike bars.

I previously owned a XB Lightning and am considering a 2009 Firebolt however I would absolutely need the bars to be raised to a similar height to the standard Lightning.

Slightly less would be doable but flat like the crossroads or lower are impossible for me to ride with these days.

I have searched many times and found some threads I remembered reading previously however I am not able to find some of the other photos I recall about this previously.

One of my main concerns is the LSL superbike bar kit appears much wider on the Firebolt (on the reseller site photo) than I recall my Lightning bars being and would prefer something similar to the raised bar setup people are commonly using on the Ducati Sport 1000's.

Ditto on everything Wazza is asking. This goes right along with my thread about converting an Ss to an R fairing and maintaining near-stock S-type bars.

The Renthals on American Sport Bike look close to S bars with 3 heights available (ultra-low, low, medium), but I have no idea how well they work with the R fairing.

This is the Kit from RRC in Europe - does anyone have this installed with a full size photo?

Audioi, the kits include longer brake cable, wires seem to be ok.

Also a mileage update: 4000 miles on these lots of wheelies and hard braking, still holding up just fine.

Stupid question, but why do you guys go back to handlebars from clip ons? Besides the obvious fat that they are taller and more comfortable.

If I was doing track days still I would have clip ons, IMO thats where they work best allowing the rider to tuck in.

Away from the racetrack riding on public roads having your body crunched up with clip ons and high pegs is IMO more a image than something of any worth.

I must admit until I sampled a naked bike in the late 90's I always rode sports bikes with clip ons however once I realized how good regular bars work on the street I ditched sports bikes for nakeds. No more neck, and wrist strain, able to do longer miles on less smooth roads.

Having had a Lightning one of the issues I had was the lack of air defusing compared to other nakeds I have owned. All of the other nakeds have used pods around their instruments which were wind tunnel designed to disrupt the air around the riders upper body helmet area enough to ease the wind buffering at highway speeds.

The Lightning's flat front panel above the lights does not deliver the same level of air deflection - well not to me at least and on long rides at highway pace the buffering became a sore point.

The Firebolt has by comparison huge wind defection compared to any of my nakeds but doesn't close the rider in which makes for unbearable heat build up here in the tropics. With higher bars and the Lightning pegs it could perhaps be the tour friendly machine I wanted in the first place...

how about a tall lightning windscreen? much cheaper than a new bike with fancy mods.
