4 valves/cylinder, centrally located spark plug, extremely shallow valve angle, and water cooling? Even with that compression ratio, it'll probably run on 87 octane without knocking!

And a belt drive.

Is that the same belt they are using on the Uly's and XB's? And is it up to it?

Not that anyone cares, but how is it on fuel consumption?

And 0-60, 0-100, top speed?

im also curious about mpg (wouldnt sway me away from it, just curious), 0-60, 0-100, and top speed, mainly just for bragging rights when bench racing friends (going more than the speed limit on public roads is unsafe, illegal, and shouldnt be done : ) )

I popped the gear numbers into a speed calculator last night and top speed in 6th @ 10,000rpm was 175mph.
Of course that's theoretical, but I would think 170+ shouldn't be a problem.

Yep, fuel consumption should be pretty good I would expect. If the Corvette Z06 at 505 hp can get about 27 mpg then this bike with 6 gears should be pretty good as well with all the latest technology and the lower weight. With the added fuel capacity it should have quite a range.

One other thing is is the sound. Has anyone heard it running and revved up?

Uses a belt, but it's on the wrong side of the bike! ;)

Is that a bellypan on the bottom? (would it count for one?)

Dry Weight 375 lbs. nice.

MPG would be important my buddies 1098 gets 75 miles to the tank when he rides hard. (that is not a joke)

By the looks of the duell 61mm intake it could be a gas-guzzler compared to the XB.

Belt tension maxes out when the bike wheelies or when the clutch is dumped when downshifting from high engine speeds.

The aircoolers can all wheelie, yes? They also can all suffer harsh downshifting at speed, yes? I doubt that the peak loading on the drive belt is too much different. The heat it generates at prolonged WOT may be more of an issue though.

Did you guys see the dyno chart---the torque curve is a smooth curve,it is making 70+ ft lbs at 4500 and is nearly flat all the way to 10500,sweet.

Wet weight:

850 gross rating - 395 load capacity = 455 lb (!)

Then again, it's got more fuel, so with the tank empty:

455 lb - (5.6 gal * 6.2 lb/gal) = 420 lb

Nothing like 35 lbs of gas to make it seem porky.....

i wouldnt go by that crayola drawing. i believe that the bike is tuned for a bigger spread of torque than other bikes, but i wouldnt trust that dyno chart. im excited to see a real one.

They must have spend a good amount of time to get such a nice smooth torque curve.

Yes, a bit of time was spent getting such a nice smooth torque curve, much of which you can thank a guy named Erick (no mistake) for. The dyno curve is real, and you can feel the smoothness when you ride the bike.

Anony,

Do you have any idea what the chart looks like <4500 RPM? I think many would be interested in that info.

Also, have you ridden the 1125r? If so there is a separate thread that speaks to that, if you could offer anything there.

Your posts are extremely valuable. In a time of so much speculation and anticipation, it is nice to get the bottom line.

Torque is still strong down to 3500 rpm. There are no flat spots. The curve from 3500 to 6500 has very similar (slightly lower) values to a XB12R, but then it just keeps on going.

SOHC is not right - it´s a DOHC valve train!

No its right your just not seeing it right.
SOHC/cyl<-- Single overhead cam per cylinder.
DOHC is two cams over each cylinder unless its an inline motor.

You probably are miss reading it cause of the 1125r excitement going on.

DOHC is correct.

The valve train description is a little confusing.

Each set of cams (2 per cylinder) is driven off a single chain.

Check out the CAD pictures. They should help eliminate any confusion.
