Hello all
I’m about to do it again
Buy another. This time 08’ 1125R.
I’ve struggled to choose between a XB12R and the 1125R
I have had a XB9R and a 09 1125R for a while so I’ve ridden both some miles.Both great machines as I believe all Buells are.
I still have my 00 M2 I don’t think I can ever sell.
I think It boils down to craving that 146hp adrenaline producing power plant.
The bike has 25k on the clock but was a one owner up to 2021.
Has the race ECM with Barker exhaust and clutch Upgrade
It’s very clean and been well maintained.
I’ve always trusted my 45 degree Sportster V twins for durability and longevity. From what I’ve read the rotax should go the distance as well.
Any of you 1125 high milage guys or known of high milage rotax engines have advise on longevity ?
I maintain and repair my machines and use Amsoil

Found a post I must have overlooked from high milage 1125 riders back in 2012.
Great to read about them raking up the miles and smiles. I'm looking forward to it.

Congrats! I wonder if it was one of the ones I was looking at on FBM? Where'd you get it?

Just like anything else, if it's maintained you shouldn't have any out of the ordinary issues that a 15 year old motorcycle would have. Wheel bearings, steering head bearings, brake pads, starter, clutch, battery, stator, valve adjustment, drive belt condition, suspension condition, fuel pump, cooling system and the digital display functions.
I had a 2008 when they first came out, it was a huge step for Buell to break away from using a Harley based engine. Sometimes I wish I still had it, because it was so different. The black and blue color combo was classic

Congrats on the purchase! I had a 1999 X1 Lightning and that thing was super fun. I sold it to a buddy when I got married as I needed the cash. He still has it. : )

As my kids are now young teens, feeling the itch I bought a 1125r this past September. I always wanted one ever since I laid eyes on it, but with little kids its hard to commit to a bike. Now my kids are teens it was easier to convince the wife to entertain the idea.

The 1125r is a dream, it sounds fantastic (has that roar) and has tons of power. I am not a racer by design, I do not rocket out of red lights (that sort of thing), but I like having that power when I need it. A quick turn of the wrist and that thing jumps, super responsive.

I'm still upgrading mine, was mostly stock (with low miles) when I bought it. Had a Remus exhaust and K&N filter and that was it. So installed a new Oberon clutch (old one was weeping) and need to do a front fork seal (also weeping), have the seal replacement kit just need to take it to a shop to do. Got weighted bar ends from Sato racing, which help tremendously with the vibrations on your hand, also tank wraps to grip better with my legs. I'm lookin at t-rex for frame/wheel skids and roadstercycle for a rectifier next. Just need to save up a little. Wife has already griped bout my bike purchases and the expense.

Oddly enough, my most expensive purchase have been on safety equipment. Good quality helmet, gloves, com system, full riding textiles suite, boots, (looking for riding leathers next).

I love mine and it is a ton of fun to ride. I'm sure you will enjoy your purchase as well. Since I bought mine, I haven't seen another on the road. So when visiting moto shops for events, you are noticed pulling in given the roar and the lack of them on the road (people will approach you to ask about it or check it out). : )

Hey Guys..sorry for the lengthy wait to reply.
Rsh..I love the list of ordinary issues.
I think I've delt with most all of those over the years. Not all on the same machine fortunately.
Thanks Art..I have been enjoying it until the clutch slip at upper RPM was realized.
Been trying to fix for over a week now.
No worries I stll have the trusty M2. Always best to have two : )
