Hey all, hope everyone is having a good holiday season! I've been having bad luck this year w/ my bikes - now my 1125r has some issues. It started w/ the instrument cluster going totally blank randomly. Then sometimes it would come back online. After that, I got the U0001 Comm Error code. I fixed the wiring from the cluster to the plug (leads had broken), and the cluster has not gone dark yet after 1+ hour of riding. However, I'm still getting codes and then just now both headlights went out at the same time. They flashed extra bright for a tiny fraction of a second, and then went out. The tiny lights on the sides are on, but my regular + high beams are out now. Error codes I'm getting now: U0001 Comm Error P0503 V Speed Sys Err (my speedo goes to zero randomly, that's been happening for a few years, not sure if this is showing that) P1047 F-R AF Sys Err Thanks for any input (Message edited by elvinjones on December 16, 2022) | ||

The dash turns itself off if the voltage goes too high which may also explain what has happened to your bulbs, usually this is caused by the regulator failing. Good luck. | ||

Check into the regulator as noted. Take it from me, it can easily kill the expensive battery too ! Mike | ||

Thanks all. Regulators are cheap so I'll get that replaced. However I'm pretty sure that the dash was from the ignition solder joints failing. However my battery was pretty low voltage etc so it could have caused stress on the regulator. do 2008 1125r's have issues w/ the stator? | ||

The 2008's are not known for stator problems, they started with the 2009. | ||

Also, you can clean the metal bits from the VSS (vehicle speed sensor). Over time, it will accumulate small bits of metal. i believe the sensor is magnetized. U0001 is a common error with battery issues. If you use the "Google Buell 1125R Forum" at the top of this page, you should be able to find information on voltage regulators. Another thing, i would add some extra length wiring to your ignition switch and dremel out the fairing stay so that the wiring isn't "bow string tight" (my pet peeve with all modern machinery these days!)
