First post and its a topic already covered, read many a post about it but i guess i haven't read the solution.

Only recently picked up the 1125r with just over 7,000kms on the odo. When loading up on a trailer to cart it across state lines someone kicked the mirror off - snapping the quite thin cast mount.

So whilst the replacement was in-transit i completely expected that one or both side indicators to flash faster than normal.
I have now replaced the mirror - and at times when out riding the indicators flash at a normal rate, other times (more often) they are going quite fast.

What is the possible cause &/or solution to this?

Pinched wire under the mirror mount?

I'll loosen and check... odd that all indicators are working fine just the speed is inconsistent.

My 08 has a similar issue. My turn signals have been integrated into the headlights and taillight. One side blinks fast, the other blinks slow... I just ignore it.

Dropped the mirrors and couldn't see anything to indicate a pinch. Bolted back on and flashing fast but i didn't start it up.
I'll check again when I ride it into work tomorrow morning.

Fast flashing is usually a sign one of your indicators is not working, have you checked when they are flashing fast that both front and rear are working? also have you fitted an original replacement? if not it could be a resistance issue, if all else fails you may want to fit a resistor to the side that is flashing fast, google and you will find all you need to know.

Rode into work this morning - both sides flash fast, and all indicators are working. Quite odd.

Fitted original mirrors/indicators as far as i can tell the rears are stock - stock rears were LED also?

Anyway - no biggie, fast indicators are better than none at all : )

Did you ride it before the mirror broke?

I suspect your gauge cluster was replaced with a 2010 cluster which has different load resistance programming for its mix of LED and incandescent signals.

No, but have been told it was normal.

Would a cluster reset make any difference? Power down reset

No, what Froggy is saying is the lights are different thru the years.
2008 used LED signals and incandescent taillight, 2009+ used incandescent signals and an LED taillight.

The 2009 IC is loaded for incandescent signals and LEDs will flash at fast speed.

If you have the gear indicator, you have a 2009+ IC

Zac is correct other than the years, 08/09 used LEDs for all four signals, it was 2010 that switched to incandescent bulbs in the rear.

The 09 and 2010 clusters look identical and show a gear indicator, but the software inside it is slightly different. You can get the software version while in diagnostic mode (hold MODE and TOGGLE down, turn key on, then tab through the screens).

I'll have to look up the cluster versions numbers. If your 2009 was swapped to a 2010 cluster, that may be the cause of the issue.

I know its an 09 build... and i'll have a look for the software version tonight.

When bought it had a tail-tidy already fitted & i've just assumed the person simply relocated the original indicators.

Has a gear indicator when you flick through screens.

Pretty safe to say its never had a cluster swap - there aren't many of these on the roads in australia so parts are few and far between. But it's not impossible either.

If it is the 1125R that is in your profile picture, that bike is a 2010. I can see the incandescent turn signals in addition to the polished "ZTL2" logo on the front caliper.

I'm a bit stumped a this point, as that blows my previous theory out the window.

Regarding the 2009 build date, all the 2010 models were built in 2009, as the factory shutdown was in October.

I'll get the cluster software version tonight anyway and we'll proceed from there.

Cheers so far everyone - we'll get it sorted : )

SW 6.2
CAL 1.0

Off topic - battery voltage read 11.8v, is that fine?

Pretty sure that's the last firmware rev for the 1125.
I have a 2009 IC on my 2008 1125R and it's got 6.1.

11.8 is 75% discharged IIRC, put it on a tender or trickle charge.
Full charge on a new battery will be ~12.6 with no load(key off).

Oh yeah, enjoy your summer. We've had a mild late autumn but that's gonna change.
Wednesday we're supposed to hit 60 dF and a snowstorm is forecast for Thursday with temps dropping to -15dF for the next week! no riding. : (

re: Voltage - 11.8V was with the headlights on... it read a neat 12v when i went into diag via park.

Do any of the errors (images uploaded) mean anything?

Included the temp of my garage this morning at 9am : ) so far its been a cool start to summer, sometimes can be 30degrees by 9am.
