That green plastic part do you think it came from inside the rotor. And what about the loud knocking noise

The green 'plastic piece most likely came off the stator. It's not unusual.

Is there any metal there that will stick to a magnet?

The knocking noise could be a loose rotor nut don't run the bike to you check it

I don't remember the stator epoxy being green, I'm sure mine was a light brown, I could be wrong.

some '08s had a bad batch of heat treated "balance gears" (it is behind the rotor on the "left side" of the motor)...mine had it...what is unfortunate is it sends metal particles up to the head (rear) via timing chain: here's a link with pics...need to open up the left side (rotor side) as well as look at your oil filter.

Some stators I have seen, like the one in my '09 CR, have green epoxy about that color on the outer ends of the poles.
I'm not talking about the epoxy coating the wire, or the windings, just the outside surface of the poles.

It came to me that way. I don't know if it's factory or aftermarket.

I think I've seen some of the Rick's motorsports stators that have green posts.
I would suspect, if there was a noise associated with it, that either the rotor has contacted the stator and come apart, or the nut on the rotor is loose and also caused it to come apart.

The rotor nut is tight no damage to anything I could see still have knocking going to pull motor
