Hello, just got my first 1125r two days ago, had oil leaks and a few problems I seemed to have those sorted.

There was quite a bit of metal shavings when I did the oil change on the one plug they were very fine like sand is this normal?

My other issue I tired searching for it but to no avail, 1st gear take off is never very smooth it's always a bit bumpy unless I ride the clutch till 4k is that normal?
If I drop the clutch at 3k it feels like there's drag on the rear tire. Not sure how to explain it more accurately.

It also looks like it had clutch weep? Definitly was a drip and some paint on the clutch cover was eaten away but it's not leaking now? Is there a way to tell if it was remedied ? Or maybe it was since it doesn't seem to leak baby longer?

I installed hmf exhaist had my firmware updated and buelltoothered the tune it was all pretty straight forward, today was my first outing and the bike was alot of fun and seem to have alot of power, has alot of quirks like leaking fuel lol, but I'm really enjoying it. Thanks in advance for any replies .

Not really normal, I take off just fine. Maybe a result from clutch weep? But if you say it's no longer leaking then idk. They can be kinda surgey at low rpms but with your exhaust it should be remedied.
Where are you leaking fuel? If you mean from the vent hose near the rear tire then that's normal

When taking off from a dead stop, clutch engagement is supposed to boost, via the ECM, the RPM's about 500rpm above the idle setting so it less prone to stall.

If you have a steady pull on the clutch lever, you are probably go to go.

I would change tires if they are over 2 years old.
I would service the brake fluid.
I would service the coolant.
I would service the brake pads.
And clean with a hone the front brake, both sides.
If you are over 12,000 miles and do not know if valve shim clearance check has been done, do that too.

Get a service manual if you don't own one.

Yeah I was also thinking the bad starts may be clutch weep as well, it feels like shuddering or something, but since its not leaking anymore I'm not entirely sure, is clutch weep intermittent at all? I don't mind buying the Oberon but I'm worried it may have already been fixed.

The fuel leak is the regular vent leak it just caught me by surprise, had a pretty big puddle at a stop light so I had to do some googling.

The HMF and tune really smoothed out the bike, very very loud, but I grew up around harleys so its still quieter then my fathers 79 FLH lol.

I took a week off of work just to get this bike ready for the summer

Tires are brand new
Brake fluid / clutch I'll be changing in the next day or so I have a vaccuum pump to make it easy.
I got water wetter and anti freeze for coolant
I got a spare set of brake pads already
previous owner said he did valve check last year and didn't ride the bike after, he had an accident soon after, he had also insulated the frame and ceramic coated the headers, ebr triple tree, and convertibars ect

I do have the owners and service manual : )

Forum has been allot of help I fixed the oil leak with super glue and re-torquing the bolts around the case, really didn't want to rotate the motor so soon lol.

Thanks for the reply.

Is it difficult to get it into first gear? How about downshifts; rough/noisy? Does the bike feel like it's lurching when stopped in first gear?

Goes into first gear fine and other then starting off, the bike feels tip top, I'll say there's a bit of drag when the clutch is pulled in but doesn't seem to be excessive. Tried Changing fluid today but the bolts on resevoir are stripped I'll get to it tomorrow and see, the fluid in the window is nice and clear and still no weeping.
Bagged 1125

Got tech grips installed today and cortech bags. Debating if I like the look but sure was convenient for groceries.

You can pull the puck off the actuator and check it's operation; there will be no fluid leak. When you say it feels like the rear tire is dragging, is that because the engine is revving but the bike doesn't seem to be accelerating as you would expect? Is it possible the clutch is slipping? It's also pretty straightforward to do the clutch actuator, so you might want to take it apart and verify the prior owner did it properly.

Yes that sounds like the problem, the bike seems to ride fine otherwise though, I'll take that puck off tomorrow and check it out. I'm not sure if it was repaired the PO was a bit stubborn about this issue I could see in the photos he sent that it had weeped, but he said there wasn't any. The clutch reservoir is full, but clearly there was weep at one point as the clutch cover paint is eaten away. Whether it was fixed by the or a previous owner is unknown to me. I bought the bike unseen and had it shipped while I was overseas.
Thanks again.

Seems to be a tiny bit of fluid past the piston? Is this for sure the weepy clutch then? Actuation looks ok
Weepy

Looks like it to me but hard to tell exactly how much is coming out. It's fairly cheap and really easy to do so I'd do it

Looks like it "starting" to weep, that area should be dry. It's pretty easy to open it up and check the o-rings at a minimum; o-rings are also available separately. Just be careful of the diaphragm behind the clutch cover.
