I've got a Dean Adams RT-3 on my R. Its a great piece. Excellent quality for the money I must say. I do, however, find it to be just too loud. Aside from the factory stocker, what are the options for something to help unleash some of the beast, without neighbors two miles away hear me start it up? I already know that Dean's pipe is the most powerful, and arguably the best constructed. Just want opinions on how to quiet down "the Dragon".

AmericanSportBike did a very comprehensive shootout along time ago with a fully detailed process comparing price, power, weight, sound levels and even audio links. here is the link to the site. http://www.americansportbike.com/Exhaust_Shootout. html. The tested pipes had different levels at different RPMS and looking at it, it seems like the torque hammer exhaust was mildest through the full rpm range.

Thanks for the link. Very helpful. I don't see Saron listed. What is it?

Sorry about that, for some reason, I thought it was part of that shootout. Here's a couple of links:

Bought mine with a Jardine RT5 on it. Too loud for my taste. Sold it, bought the Barker with "Quiet Core" insert. I also turned the spout, end piece, towards the ground. The sound is wonderful and a bit quieter than the Jardine. I also went with the race ECM tuned for the Barker (Ebay combo $700+) It runs SOOOOO much better now. Night and day difference. Idle is lower and consistent, power is noticeably higher throughout and the sound...oof. I had thought of selling my Buell...not now.

Dean also does a reworked stock exhaust, it is a little louder than stock but nothing crazy, it is my preference of all the exhaust options for the 1125s.

I have 2 CR's in the garage right now. Mine with the FMF Apex and my buddies with the RT-3

My Apex was re-wrapped in stainless because the carbon cracked under warranty.

The FMF is WAY quieter then the RT-3.
but you can feel the difference with the butt dyno. the RT-3 feels like it pulls harder.

I'm on the fence as too which one I actually prefer. I dont have neighbors to worry about but there is NO way your sneaking home with either of them.
The RT is fun to run around local and Hoon on but I think the highway noise would drive me crazy after a while.

The FMF has some highway drone but not to bad with earplugs in

Don't see anyone shouting out for Drummer's offerings.
Kevin's been making Buell/EBR exhausts for over a decade.
I have his SS slip-ons on my 1125 and 1190 and he has been nothing short of amazing in supporting his work.

Got the one for my 1125 from another BadWeBber but the 1190 has been custom all the way.

Going to see Tim in the next few weeks, with the 1190; need more ponies in my attempt to break 180mph in the standing mile.

That CES is work of art. My fav for looks is a Ronin which is probably impossible to get.

I personally like the sound of FMF Apex. It is loud but not obnoxiously loud.
