Just installed EBR clutch actuator and o ring, EBR rotor, and replaced stator (with Rick's). The bike started fine with no problems (no lights on instrument cluster). After shifting to first gear, bike barely moves (creeps). Shifted to 2nd, same thing. Neutral light does go out and it shows the gear that I am in.
Released some clutch fluid thinking I might have put too much, no results. I did change my engine oil to Mobile 1 20x50 synthetic (added 3 qts). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like clutch is not fully engaging/slipping. Definitely something with the clutch actuator. Does it shift into gear with no grinding/noise?

It takes quite some time for the clutch to get right after replacing the clutch actuator.

How did you go about getting the air out the system?

Thanks for the quick reply gents! No grinding noise with the shifting into gear. And it has good feedback letting me know its in gear. I went through about two reservoir cycles of pushing clutch fluid through the system (I wasn't getting any air bubbles from the outflow). I might try going through another cycle.

So I went through another cycle of pushing fluid through. Still nothing.. I made sure there was no air bubbles at all at the release valve. Terrys1980, what do you mean about getting the clutch right? Thanks

The best way to ensure no air is trapped would be to push it from the bottom up, using a large turkey baster style syringe and 3/16" hose.

It was opposite for me though, it took a good 30 minutes for the clutch to settle in and stop grabbing so much.

I'd venture to say that something happened when installing the piston. Maybe an o-ring rolled and the piston was properly aligned when installed.

I think you need to take it apart again, sounds like either the liner that fits into the cover is not fully seated or piston itself is not seated in liner. From what you've said previously, you can put it in gear no problem, but when you release clutch it is barely moves. That, to me, indicates the actuator does not have full travel.

Fixed! While taking apart the clutch actuator cylinder and putting it back together with a whole new fluid flush, I decided to try something out with the amount of rotation on the circular nut that connects the cylinder to the clutch. I found out that I tightened the nut too tight so there was already a "pull" on the clutch even when the clutch handle wasn't pulled. I loosened the nut, added some loctite just in case, and viola! bam chica bam. Bike works like a dream. Time for a beer! Thanks all for the help!

The spherical nut is only supposed to be torque to like 10ft-lbs
