after many happy months of track riding my 1125R is really sick, as in coolant in the oil sump, looking at a rebuild or a replacement motor, if you have one for sale just holler

Could it be something "simple" like a head gasket?

it may be head gasket or water pump seal,or some transmission item let go, it stopped during a fast lap, at about 10K rpm, did not lock up but died, back to the garage and all of the coolant had drained into the sump, also coolant/oil mix pissed out of the weep hole when the bike died on the track. I love this bike.........

Good Lord...I just took a look at EBay for motors, and the only one I saw was the one with the front mount broken off the case that Mike's Motorcycles has been trying to sell for a while.

Believe it or not, he's jacked the price up to $1975 plus $250 shipping!

I was debating buying a spare motor last year when there were several on EBay, and one could be had for around 1K.

Instead, I bought a complete bike for $2700...

There will be more motors on EBay. Hopefully in sufficient numbers that the price will drop back down.
(not that I think Mike's Motorcycle Parts is going to get anywhere near his current asking price for that one, but other sales sources may get inspired to try for the moon seeing that listing)
