Numbers. There were 3 made....?....does that help?

From the front page of the 1125R Superbike Board:

Production numbers:
1125R - 5836
1125CR - 3099
1125RR - 3

Buell made 3 complete bikes; however, my old race bike was a factory for race use only frame. So I'm not sure how many race use only frames are out there.

Only 3?
Is that what Eslick and the others rode, the RR?

Is that what Eslick and the others rode, the RR?

Not really, but Eslick's and Barney's rides could likely be considered the prototypes for the 1125RR.

Some info:
From Moto USA

From AMA Pro Racing via Moto USA

From Cycle World

From Motorcyclist

From RRW

In addition to Cory West, Taylor Knapp also raced an 1125RR at NJMP the weekend that Eslick took the DSB championship. From the pictures I took while I was there, I really only captured Knapp's #44, with not much of West's #53. However, in the garage area of the pits, I can make out the making of 3 distinct bikes (#44 in the foreground, 2 bikes without bodywork - at the time - in the background).

Since the release of the Buell 1125RR was so close to Wandell's ax swinging, and the forming of Erik Buell Racing, I think it will be difficult to find anyone who knows much more about them.

But I welcome to be proven wrong!

i have Geoff May's AMA Superbike 1125R that Walt Sipp later rode to a CCS Team Challenge GTO championship although it now has a DSB spec motor in it. Walt rode it at Barber Vintage Festival last weekend. much racier than my 1125R race bike and still my favorite of all time! I have not ridden the RX on track yet though!!

From what I have been told and with research I've done through EBR I have one of the James Gang bikes. Not really sure where in the timeline it falls with relation to the RR.

I built all the James Gang bikes, still have one. I maintained "twins" for the 2009 season.
It is not an 1125RR
The 1125RR had the forward facing radiators
All of the 1125R built for AMA had side mounted radiators and used Flexiglas bodywork for most.
