"You know Fres, I have not been impressed with the race ECM."

Yep, I too have the EBR race ECM for the stock exhaust. And I too have the shaky-hurky-jerky at low speed phenomenon. 30mph in 2nd gear (or something like that) is a pain.

After talking about this with lots of riders, I find this is common with many large twins. So much so that the Ducati riders have given it the name, "The Ducati Shudder"
My mechanic says the Honda VTR is guilty of this, too. "Those big twins don't like to go slow."
"Ya thanks, but that doesn't help."
My EBR race ECM lessened this but fixed other problems. You can tell who has a fixed ECM by the bluing, or lack of excessive bluing, on their exhaust header. Bluing being a symptom of an excessively lean air/fuel mixture.

I currently use it on my 08 with the Barkers exhuast. I don't do much (any) riding in the City so perhaps I am always seeing the best side of the ECM (higher RPM ranges). I do some very low 2nd gear RPMs rolling in and out of the 'hood, but that's for noise control and it does alright.

All I can say is it's pure joy to roll on the throttle hard from say 4K to 10K. The smooth, powerful torque of the this Twin is just fantastic.

Also, for those having low RPM issues, are you feeding the throttle in slowly? I find at low RPMs you need to feed the motor air much more slowly to try to reduce the shuddering/bogging. I am sure there is a technical reason for this, perhaps someone can shed some light on the reason?

The crush washers and screen gasket mentioned earlier in the thread - anything in particular I could find in a local hardware store?
Like, does anyone know what size I'd ask for if I went to a local hardware store (or something like AF etc) to get it locally?

Same for the stuff listed above for McMaster - is there just a size I can ask for locally vs buying in bulk (plus shipping)?

Thanks yall

They aren't typical flat washers as they have a raised ridge on one side, at the circumference, to keep centered.
That said, any copper OR aluminum flat washer that fits should "work fine - last long time".

I have 28k on my 1125 and still have the original crush washers.
I do a few figure-eights on some 800 grit wet-dry at each oil change.(on the flat side)

hi,,,
A 15w-40 HDEO is smack dab in between those two and will likely work very well. Rotella, Delo or Delvac all work well.

If you want a synthetic, you could also go with the M1 20w-50 MXT.
