Ive got an 09 CR with a drilled rotor and and trickle charger. Should I continue to use the harness Harley installed to try and help the stator issues or is it completely useless and i should just bypass it?

I recommend taking it out since you got the better rotor.

The relay just adds complexity, and while it does lower the stator temperatures it is not needed anymore. Also if the relay does fail, there is a good chance it gets stuck keeping your stator in single phase mode.

Interesting. I have a trickle charger and my 1125 is an "around town" bike only. I figured i would better my odds and longevity by keeping the harley fix in place. How often do the relays fail?

I think the Harley fix means the bike produces less electric. One long ride with high beams and you will run your battery down to the point of no return and the bike will run rough and die. After the fix there is no point to the crutch

The Harley fix opens 1 of the 3 stator legs when the bike is sitting still and the load is light. The ECM controls it.
