Finally getting ready to do the fuel pump swap on the 08 1125R, but unfortunately the old pump died so cannot just run it dry. So I will have to manually drain it. I checked out the manual and a thread here. I think I have it covered, but am looking for a way to drain it without getting fuel everywhere. Am thinking something like a beer bong might work. Just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this and has a solution?

Wide mouth flexible funnel worked for me.

Spilled a little near the end though.

I'm assuming you know about the drain plug on the left side...it would be easiest to siphon or pump most of the fuel before pulling the plug, but it can be done either way.

Just make sure the receptacle is big enough to hold what's left in the tank.

If I did this regularly, I'd make an aircraft style quick drain to fit the drain fitting, one that would accept a piece of hose over the outlet.

Got a link for that?

I'm getting too old to bend down and suck gas into my mouth more often than not...
