I am trying to find out which Ohlins steering stabilizer I should order. I can make my own brackets and install the damper on the bike in an EBR kit fashion. I am looking to find out what stroke length that was used on the EBR kit. I found a few pictures, but came up with nothing on the size of the damper. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Chart with common sizes

I can measure the stroke on mine when I get back home this Sunday.

As posted in the other thread, I'm interested in a set of the brackets if you make them for sale!

It's either 63 or 68, can't remember for sure. Hopefully someone else can chime in with the correct number.

Nobuell, have you had a chance to measure yours?

I was not able to get my race bike and trailer out of storage like anticipated. I moved it home last night and will be working on the bike tonight. I should be able to measure it tonight.

I measured the stroke on my steering damper. I measured approximately 56 mm of total stroke lock to lock. I would expect that the 63 mm stroke model will work. Note, I do not use the EBR rotation limiter.

Hey Zach,
I have the complete Ohlins damper setup, brackets and all, as originally sold by Buell.
I want to sell it. Interested?

Nobuell, thank you for checking that for me.
Jgarner99, How much were you thinking? If the price is right maybe. Do you have any pics? I would still like to make some brackets and test them. Then maybe make more or share some prints and (dxf's, dwg's) so other members can have them made.

Dear Jgarner, quit trying to screw this up for the rest of us! : ) Albert (a Bueller in Europe) made up a set of brackets but never responded to requests to reproduce them for sale, and now we've got somebody who might actually follow through with it!

That said, I rode the balls off my 1125 last weekend and got a little headshake once. So, I guess if Zach decides to buy one instead of reproducing them, I'll just forget about the damper altogether.

Hi guys. I can attach pictures tomorrow night. Basically, it's in perfect shape. The 1125 was gonna be my street/track rocket, but I crashed it before the damper was ever installed. I paid $325 for the barely-used Ohlins damper, but I'll let it go for $250, plus shipping ($13 for USPS Priority Mail).

If Zach doesn't want the stabilizer, I'll be interested.
I have access to a CNC mill, and could possibly reproduce the brackets if I get it.

Jgarner99 I will take it. And for fleshrocket i will copy the brackets as well. I will let everyone know when they are complete.

Question for Nobuell, I have the Ohlins damper on my 1125r. When I first test drove the bike from the original owner he said be careful of the short turning radius and I asked him why, he said because of steering limiters. I said why don't you just take them off. He said you can't because it puts the damper in a bind.
I figured he knew what he was talking about as he worked for Buell in Management. Any input would be appreciated, thanks. I'd like to remove the limiters because with them on it's a pain to turn around in my driveway.

Mustang, I never installed my damper, but I found a lot of online literature which seemed to indicate that if installed correctly, there was no reduction in steering lock.
I was ABOUT to install the damper, so I looked at everything pretty carefully, and it is definitely possible to install the parts with the angles of the brackets not aligned or centered correctly.
IIRC, the orientation of the collar that clamps to the fork leg is important (its angle to the damper rod affects the damper's throw). That could be what's going on for you...

I have no problem with the steering lock with my damper installed. I do not use the EBR lock reducer because you need 100 R to turn the thing around! Actually I did not like the way the ground attached and became loose.

If I were redesigning the damper connection, I would eliminate the fancy frame mount and move the damper up and connect to the center fairing mount. I looked at it a while back before I found the factory mount. I believe a simpler bracket could be made.

Zach, here are some pictures of the damper, just so you know it's for real.
Contact me so we can get this going, OK?
Thanks, John

I just got the damper in the mail today, looks great (thanks jgarner99). I did'nt have much time today but I looked where it connects to the frame/fairing mount and there is a metal guard in the way containing the electrical wires for the ic/headlights/turn signals. Has anyone mounted this setup on their road bike? Where did you reroute your wires? I think i may just flip the damper body over and redesign the damper body bracket to get enough clearance to work around the guard/wires. I have to look closer when i get some time to really get into it. Any thoughts?

I installed the damper, as it turns out the metal guard was plastic. I cut out enough room for the wires and moved the wires to the outside of the bracket. I went for a ride last night and it works well. I like the new feel. I modeled the brackets, and the frame/faring stay bracket turns out to be a pain to mill by hand. A cnc mill is much better for this bracket. I am experimenting on redesigning the frame bracket to make it easier to mill. I may just redesign the whole setup but lets see how the Mod goes first. For anyone with a cnc, here is the model of the bracket (modeled in solidworks 2014)
