So i recently went off the road on my 1125cr to no one's fault but my own. Scraped up the left side pretty good, but luckily I walked away and the bike only took cosmetic damage. I was sitting on it today double checking everything, and noticed an oddity in the handlebar clearance when turned at both locks. Full left lock I have 3 fingers clearance from frame to bar end, full right lock I have 4. The bars dont feel bent, and dont have any stress marks / cracks. It also looks like the forks get closer to the frame (head tube area) when locked right than left, so maybe this is just another standard oddity of the bike. Asking anyone else with an 1125CR with clubman bars to run a quick test next time you're on it. See if the handlebars appear to have the same clearance to frame when at full left lock vs full right lock. Similar to photo below. Ease my mind, or send me on a hunt for new clubmans... Thanks!

Was there any friction on the bar ends? I read a thread where the discussion focused on a similar incident. The triple tree's were a bit out of alignment, things had twisted between the upper and lower triple's. the advise was: on an unweighted front end, release the pinch bolts on the fork tubes. align and retighten. |

Yes, there was friction on the barends. I cant assume it was much though, judging by the ammount of scratches on them. There are only light nicks on the bar end. The part that is making me think its normal is that the fork tubes (left and right side) dont have equal clearance to the front part of the frame (basically the headtube area) when at full left and right lock. |

check the stop lug on the lower triple clamp for deformation. That's not right and something is bent. |
