I use the Motul 15/50 Factory Line in my '08 1125 and my Ducati 1198. My local tuner tells me he doesn't see cam follower scuffing on Ducatis that run this oil.

I think this is what Twin Motorcycles (Buell shop in the Netherlands) uses as well.

Hi gents,

I just bought 4L of MOTUL 300V 15W50 for 1125R of mine. Ive been told it will be the best oil for this engine. What is your opinion on that?

I run either Motul 300V or Maxima Extra 4 in my track 1125r. Both 15W50. The Motul smells the best.

Sutec in zwitserland designed the 1190 engine for erik. our \Buell 1125 engine is a cagiva engine that is reworked for erik. i visited this factory and had a good discussion with the owner and designers. the engine is designed to run a 10w-40 oil we prever Motul 10W-40 http://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp? guid=YXHFSC&aid=1887&cid=0&s=motul&a=&aname=Motul_ 300V_10W40_4t_engine_oil1L

Then Why do the parts have Rotax logos and why would Buell not acknowledge these people if they did the design work?
As HD acknowledged Porsche for the Vrod work?

Easyrider,
Any evidence of this claim? Can you point us towards something to read. (I Goolged Sutec. Found what I think to be their page and found nothing about Buell, EBR, 1190, or Rotax.)

EDIT: Just looked at a history of all Cagiva bikes and saw nothing similar to a 1000cc twin (their big Raptor used a Suzuki motor)

no other then my word. Call them and tell them you heard (not from me please) that they have a huge set of spare parts for the 1190 that you are interested in to purchase (-:

and asked them what they have tested more.

And it's a rebuild Cagiva engine. I didn't mention they had a 1000CC Engine (-:
