Good day all,
I really have no ideal on these bikes , I have a few Xbs since 2004 Know them pretty good and what goes wrong with them and what to look out for IF one buys them...However No ideal on these 1125s...

Could you guys chime in and lmk what to look out for ,I know they had faults like any other bikes...This one has about 5500 miles not many at all...But Would sure appreciate what to look out for before I chuck $$$ at something that I really don't know what to look out for....

I thought there was clutch cover leaks around the cover or something and something about the charging systems.... Not sure IF these were fixed in the 2009 year or what else goes wrong with them..Would really appreciate any and all help what to look for .....

Thanks......Much Appreciated!!!

Hogs, welcome to the 1125 side of the site.

First off the 1125 is a completely different bike. Features the Rotax Helicon engine, duel overhead cams, the works. Its a lot different to work on as opposed to an XB, but not overwhelming. The service manual will definitely be a help should problems arise.

As far as a 2009 goes, that was the year they changed the stator setup. The stator in that bike is the one known to have the issues, however with it having only 5500 miles on it hopefully there are no problems. Keep the revs up around 4-5k and the stator will be happy and should last you. Again, if problems arise, the service manual will be a major help, and the labor to change the stator is not terrible.

On the clutch cover side of things, it is known to "weep" the clutch fluid down the side of the engine. The problem is caused by a defective clutch cylinder that can wear and allow fluid to bypass it. The fix is again, not terrible.

Those tend to be the problems heard about the most. A few others have had sprag clutch issues, ignition wiring issues, etc. But its all part of owning a performance machine.

Good luck on your purchase. Hope this helps.

Yep the biggest issue is the stator, which affects 2009 and 2010 models. Assuming the stator is still in good shape, you can get a modified stator rotor cup from EBR. The modified rotor provides proper cooling to the stator, fixing the issue. $175 after core deposit return, but the down side is it is a pain to install (requires a crank locking tool and a torque wrench or similar tool that does 300ft lbs.)

Some 2008 and 2009 bikes have what is called the clutch weep, where fluid leaks out the clutch cover. This one is cheap and easy, $99 for a new actuator from EBR that fixes it for good.

Those are the two most common issues, there are other smaller things, but basically it is like your Firebolt but with a boatload more top end.

If it doesn't have one yet, get a EBR Race ECM, it is must have!

Hey Guys appreciate all of that....Yeah been on you tube as well checking seems alot have had problems with the Charging system..even low mileage. So is it just 2 hundred bucks to fix that from EBR Thought most replaced Rec. and rotor and or stater or some all 3 of em...That sounds Like big bucks...Saw one post over 2 grand from the stealership though...Typical.... So For the charging couple hundred bucks for the part and A labor bill....

plus the 100 bucks for the seal fix....

IF thats all or say nothing 500 bucks wont fix..then thats Kewl.
Just wanted to make sure ya know..Yeah I have rode em,They are fun Even at 60 years young ; )
Thanks
