I'm a long time voyeur, first time poster. . .

With the Lightweight Structural Tail Section on EBR web store (as well as the needed battery fitting sold at EBR store as well)...

1. Does this shorten the tail section at all compared to stock or just shave off weight(it looks shorter to me)?

2. If it does shorten tail section, is the stock plastic tail able to fit with cutting some length off or does a new and different plastic tail section need to be bought? And Where?

3. On a side note, in reference to the post concerning "how to build bike stand"(AN OUTSTANDING POST I MUST SAY), it is referenced that it will be placed in the "Favorites". . . Where is this "Favorites" located, as I have not seen a link to it?

They say the dumbest question is the one never asked. . . that said, I feel better about the above 3!

**OBLIGATORY "KOW-TOW"ing: This has been an invaluable (and most times entertaining!) reference site for my knowledge about my 2009 1125R. Thank you for any future, as well as all past input!

It's for less weight, race only use. No support at all for a passenger if you install it.

I've never installed one, but that's what it would be used for.

Hello neighbor. Welcome to the forum. It's a great place for info. I'm in Arlington. I've been wrenching on my '08 1125R since early '09. I'll have a friend's '09 1125R in pieces in my garage this weekend. He lives in McKinney. There are plenty of Buellers around our area, some of them Badweb members.

I really want to buy the frame from the RX. I love the cantilever look that it has under the seat. I think that would help let all the heat out too.

1. No difference in overall length of the tail is intended. It's intended for use with race tail bodywork that is just basically an empty fiberglass shell. And as mentioned above, there will be no support for any load behind the rider. You will also need to use the Battery Tray Kit that is offered, or create your own mounting support for the battery.

2. Race bodywork can be found at Flexi-Glass or Catalyst Composites (and possibly others).

3. This forum software does not have that feature. One work around is to post in the thread, and then in the future you can do a search for your posts to find the thread.

Oh, and yes you are correct, it is shorter. That is where the weight is saved over the stock unit.

Thanks for responses!

PMjolly: I live in Carrollton fyi. Will have to hook up for some curves sometime.

99buelx1: Much thanks for answer re: tail section. And thanks for "posting in a thread" for future reference...ive just been saving as a page on my Favorites. But when I read post it sounded as if there was a "Favorite" link somewhere.(not my first or last mistake).

I was hoping to use shortened tail section to emphasize rear tire look...no racing for me at this time.

You could always put a Lightning tail on it like a few folks have done.

That EBR unit could be used as a start of a nice custom tail if you weren't wanting to hack your factory one.
