Since the little lady and I will be going to the dragon this weekend (with shirts and stickers!!!) I want to make sure the suspension is set up for us I figure with gear and book bag we weigh about 350 lbs. As I read the manual I need to take the shock up to a higher setting. But is that good enough? I've never adjusted it for quick trips with the 2 of us on. Thanks everyone.

Chris.

Tell her that you're very sorry but there's a weight limit : )

JK. I usually don't touch it. It's not something that I've ever done for a technical ride or one longer than 20-30 minutes, so I just leave everything set up for me by myself.

For the dragon, however... I would do the math and set it up correctly unless someone else has a differing opinion actually based on experience.

I'll be slaloming the potholes on my straight roads at home :/ enjoy the awesome ride!

Virtually all the added weight is over the rear axle. Set rear preload to maximum, increase compression damping accordingly.

The front is mostly unaffected, but check to be sure.

Best fix is a second bike with the wife driving sport bikes are for one up.

That's kind of what I was thinking for the pre load. I don't have time to get her a bike and train her how to ride, and then one of the most challenging roads in America. I looked for places to rend a can am for her or a dune buggy, but to no avail.

I drag my wife along on the bike every now and again. I have my suspension set pretty well for my weight, so I only make a couple adjustments for her.

All I do is take the rear preload up to 9, and tighten the front preload by two full turns. I leave the other settings alone because my wife is such a great passenger, and I've only messed with one thing.

I took her along one time and forgot to tighten up the suspension, and it felt like the bike turned so slowly!! It's worth tightening it up for two-up.

I can ride almost as fast with her as when I ride solo.

Just my two cents.

Mine is set for me only and I do not adjust it at all. Even though she's been on the back for majority of my 30K miles.

Even at the track when we run it two up I haven't adjusted it.

Set it by the book, and then go at least two firmer everywhere, as stock settings are mushy. My wife's 110 and I'm 220, so it's pretty much the max book setting, and then some.

Mine's track hard, and then I added more rear preload to stop bouncing/floating, and more rebound (slowing the rebound action) to help with weight transfer and fork dive.

The front preload, front compression, and rear rebound will all have to be super firm to kill the fork dive on hard braking, when two up. Take a weekend with her and practice your setup, it's no different than dialing in your one up settings for a track day.

Make sure you have new/good rear brake pads too, as you can feed a LOT of rear brake when two up.

If it had a Ully tail, the 1125 woulda' been the perfect sport tourer. I put a Firebolt touring pillion on mine and that helped with the wife sliding forward, a lot.

This will be my second time. But first with a passenger. The guy and his wife that are coming with me, this will be their first time. Hope we do see you there. I have a loop planned on Saturday.

My wife rode with me for the first time the other day. She adjusted he position while we were riding and made the bike swerve. Thats not going to happen again.
