I installed the EBR rotor and removed the HD recall harness fix. Removing/reconnecting the large three yellow wire stator connections was simple enough but there are two left over smaller connectors. I have an EBR ECM and plugged the noid connector with the plug from American Sportbike. There are still two open connectors. One comes from the ECM and has two very small black wires. The other connector has two small wires, one grey and one grey(was connected to relay which was removed) with red or orange stripe. The bike is running and charging just fine, everything seems to work while testing in the garage. What were these two connectors for? Is it a problem to just leave them unconnected? They were all taped up and part of the HD harness fix that was installed prior to when I got the bike. Thanks for helping me solve the mystery. Mort

The wires from the ECM were used to control the recall harness relay but they are not used now with the harness fix removed and can be taped up and stowed safely.

The other connector likely comes from the Active Intake Solenoid. But if you plugged an aftermarket solenoid resistor plug onto its vehicle harness mating connector, then the connector from the Active Intake Solenoid becomes useless and it's the other mystery connector. The solution: either 1) remove the resistor plug and reconnect the Active Intake Solenoid connectors as they should be or 2) tape up the connector and safely stow it to the harness or 3) complete the noid job and remove the Active Intake Solenoid and not worry about it any more.

Sparky- Thanks so much for solving my connector mystery. I have taped and stored the connectors for now and will finish the noid removal soon as well. Mort

Hi Guys, My 1125r is out of upgrade time here in UK and Harley wont supply the harness fix, I know it's only a band aid job but my bike has only done 950 miles and if it helps prolong the life of the stator just a little bit then it would help.
Anyone got a harness mod sitting redundant in their tool box they could let me have to try?
cheers

Is there a part number for the recall harness?

Buellinuk - you don't want the harness. I have 20,000 miles on my CR. The harness has been off the last 18,000 miles, it charges better without it.

Buellinuk, your best choice for prolonging the stator is with installing the EBR oiling rotor mod. It costs a little in parts and labor but it's a permanent solution for getting the best life out of the original charging system. Forget the Harley harness upgrade, it's not needed with the EBR rotor.

Dannybuell... The reason it charges better, is because the harness actually shuts off 1 phase of the stator. Thus making it work harder and I would gather making it fail faster. Engineer's aren't always smarter in some aspects.
