I want to adjust the idle speed on my 1125R. I have the EBR ECM on it. Was wondering if anyone has adjusted theirs. I have downloaded Ecmspy mono and tunerpro. Just not sure where to go from there.

Tunerpro will do it. You need the matching xdf file for your firmware. You're looking for the IAC table. They don't recommend lowering it though, it will make charging problems worse at idle, along with lower oil pressure. I never checked mine to see how low it got.

My plan is to raise it. When I originally got the EBR ECM they had a lower idle. Supposedly it wouldn't affect charging. While it doesn't to much, it still doesn't charge the battery over extended periods (think stop and go.). I just want to put it back to the original idle speed.

The race bikes idle at 1800...

When I bought my EBR, (Buell then,) race ECM back in 2009, it was a tremendous improvement in all areas of RPM tuned to my own exhaust but seemed to idle a little too high (about 1500-1600 rpm) so I sent it back to them to lower it somewhat. Only $25.00 to do it then. When I talked to Michael Richter about it he said they would lower it as much as is practical and it was set at about 1200-1300 now and is just perfect. Never a problem with charging around town or clutching from a start. Love it still!

Bringing this one back up. What is the location address of the IAC speed in the EEPROM? Anyone have the values needed to change it to 1250, 1350?

Ok, figured it out.

Anyways, for those with the 08 charging system. After doing some serious amounts of testing back and forth on idle speed vs charging. It looks like for the 08 to get at least a charging voltage while the fans are running and low beams on. The idle speed needs to be at 1650 rpm. That seems to be the happy point to get 12.9-13.0 volts at the battery at idle with both fans on full blast and low beams only.

I will add. With the starting and stopping, flashing, restarting, etc. I was doing it's possible batter charge was affecting my results. I found a happy place where at least it wasn't lowering from what I could tell. I'm not done with it, will monitor it on my commute to class during the week and adjust if necessary.
