At the Grand Canyon with my two favorite companions 1/1/12 What a way to bring in the new year.

Grand Canyon? Sweet! I'm stuck by Lake Michigan where the roads are all covered in salt. : (

Sorry to hear that Timebandit,

There is snow up there as well. Temp drops to 14 degrees at night, but was a beautiful and still chilly 53 degrees during the day. Actually the Uly is probably the better bike to have up there this time of year because you can venture off road to see stuff you'll likely not see in a car. You gotta get out there to the Grand Canyon when you have the time. It's simply stunning and you won't regret it.

You're a comedian all right, giving us a picture like that this time of year

I'm jealous...have fun and be safe.

Now the next trip you should consider is Bryce Canyon, then over to Lake Tahoe and then down 101 to Monterey and over to Yosemite.

Snackbar -- I did the South Rim on an Arizona tour a few years ago. Time of my life. We woke up on the South Rim at the Bright Angel Lodge, and we had snow on the ground ... in summer! We started off wearing everything we had with us, and peeled layers off as we went ... by the time we hit the desert later that day it was 105-degrees! Wild changes in temperature.

If you're at the south rim, be sure to hit the Coronado Trail (US 191) while you're in Arizona. 400 switchbacks in 123 miles. Lots of cliffs with little to no shoulders. Best to ride it one-up.

Hey Whitetrashxb,

I'm in Austin frequently so I will be sure to hit you up!

Two Seasons that sounds like a great adventure.

TimeBandit, that road looks crazy and fun at the same time. We only hit the south rim, we were a little pressed for time trying to make the Fiesta Bowl. What a game!
