I had to get my bike towed due to misplacing the key and my insurance company contracted with and sent a wrecker out to get my bike and it was mishandled/mis-strapped and fell over on the flat bed. He later said to me after the incident that he was not properly equipped to tow a bike because he did not have the right straps. My insurance company was contacted and chewed out about why they send an under prepared tow company to tow a motorcycle. I will have to wait to see if they will pay the damages. It looks like minor damage for the most part. I have an minor abrasion on the clutch hand side turn signal and engine case (or whatever casing it really is called) I have moderate abrasions on the pod and it seems to have dislodged slightly from the black air intake piece.

Questions-

1. How much are the pods to replace?

2. I am worried about the radiator, which side is it on? My bike fell on the kickstand side.

3. What is that casing covering on the side of the bike I'm speaking of?

4. Since I don't have the key, I have not tried to start the bike. Are there any concerns or reasons the bike would not start after a fall.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Approx $60

2. I am worried about the radiator, which side is it on? My bike fell on the kickstand side.

There are radiators on both sides. Thats what the "pods" are. Might be ok since it just fell over and probably didn't hit real hard. Just check for mounting and leaks.

3. What is that casing covering on the side of the bike I'm speaking of?

That would be the stator side.

4. Since I don't have the key, I have not tried to start the bike. Are there any concerns or reasons the bike would not start after a fall.

Most likely not unless the tip over sensor that is under the pod that the bike fell on became dislodged and the bike still thinks that it is still laid down on its side. Also note that the ECM is coves by that same pod cover.

Sounds like it should go to the dealer and be fixed on someone else's dime

BTW, when you look at the radiator on that side the pipe coming out will look dinged in, that is normal.

Like Sprintst suggested take it to a dealer so you can claim full amount on the damages.
