Well I just got my bike back from Ray Price Harley in Raleigh NC (a pro Buell shop) and they really did a great job for me. We replaced the second burnt stator and they were willing to go to bat for me and get it authorized to do a complete 08 rewire and stator job. So far 14 volts steady and running great. Will advise all of you as to the long term reliability of the fix. But the shop was 1005 behind servicing my bike and the owner and service manager Randy are completely on board for the Buell servicing as long as possible.

Well i have 100 miles on it so far and I am charting the RPM Eng Cooling Temps and voltage all seems well it produces 14.2V @ any RPM above 3000. And 13.6 from 1500 to 3000. Idle is holding strong @ 12.8
Does not seem to mater on engine temps I let it sit for 30 min @Idle and as soon as I rode it it went to 14.2V
I do intend to do the Mossfett retrofit later but so far all is well with the 08 retrofit system by Ray Price HD

Hi Keith,

I sent you a pm yesterday asking a couple of questions about this. Perhaps it was flagged as spam.

I was wondering if you could list the parts that were needed to retro-fit the 08 stator and rotor. Also, did they remove the harness upgrade?

Thanks,
Rob

Rob I did not get the PM. I will ask my Dealer if they saved a P/N list. Yes i removed the "Upgrade" shunt. What we have now is the same as a stock 08 1125R

You need an 08 stator and rotor. The voltage regulator is the same. The 09 stator cover will work with the 08 stator (per EBarrr), but you'll need 08 mounting hardware (also per EBarrr).

Thanks Keith.

I bought a used stator and rotor from an parted-out 08 and have scheduled them installed on Wednesday. They came with some additional bolts and what-not. I was hoping to make sure that I have everything needed so I won't have to wait for new parts to be ordered and delivered.

I have both 08 and 09 service manuals; most of the parts in the general vicinity appear to be identical.

regards,
Rob

I got the parts list this weekend and will post this evening. I think it is just a rotor/Stator an 08 or 09 cover and VR. I think the wiring is the same but will confirm one way or the other. 220 Miles cooling temp as high as 200Deg and still no lower than 13.2V

Bump!

Can you post the parts list, Red?

Thanks
Rob
