The dealer is coming Tuesday to pickup my 1125R and check the stator. It's showing early signs of failure. After about 30 miles instrument panel goes dark, no speedo, "SYSTEM VOLTAGE" alarm, no turn signals. It goes normal after stop, odo does not increment while in failure mode.
I say this is early failure in that this is the 3rd time it's failed, with 16,800 miles on it. Am bummed. Warrenty runs out in May. Comments? Thoughts?

Mine does the same thing but it is from overvoltage not undervoltage. Sounds like a voltage regulator problem not a stator.

Make sure to check the headlights. Over voltage can burn them out. Mine burnt out with second regulator.

VR failed between 1st and 2nd stator failure. It did indeed fry the headlights. They're on now. Going to take it for a ride today. Weather seems OK right now.

Just had a new voltage regulator put on. New headlights too.

Sounds more like the VR than the stator (as previously mentioned)

This morning rolling down the highway at around 80 mph on my 2009 1125R, my speedometer began acting erratically sending up numbers from about 70 to 125. Then it went back to normal for a minute. Shortly after that a red battery icon and a yellow engine icon came up on the nacelle. Stopping at a traffic light a mile latter the engine shut down. There was no electrical power indicated on the nacelle. I'm thinking my stator failed. Any thoughts?
