Took a nice long ride with the Gerbing jacket and gloves turned up about 3/4. Voltage never dropped below 13.7. Wandered as high as 14.2.

Original stator, harness upgrade at 600 miles, new voltage regulator at 1800. 2400 now.

Knock on wood.

Better knock hard Daniii. Mine lasted 6,000, but harness upgrade wasn't done till 3,000. Still waiting to here why it won't keep the battery charged, could be VR.

>> regulatorrectifier.com don't sell the later model stators but they will rewind them with a 5 year warranty for a fraction of the cost of a new one. When I get a chance I'll start an exchange service.

Petebueller, can you get more info on that at some point? Rewound with a 5 year warranty sounds.. awesome.

This is their website Jim

http://www.regulatorrectifier.com/catalog/

I contacted them through the website with a couple of questions and they replied same day.

A friend got one for his Daytona for under $200 delivered to Australia with a 5 year warranty. The OEM stator was $1400.

I've still got a couple of years factory warranty on my 1125R but when that runs out I might grab one of these as a spare.

The topic has been on a few threads. Another thread proposed getting one wound for slightly less output an slightly less heat, or looking at a different type of regulator. Might be worth mentioning that if you contact them.

Thanks Pete. Thinking I might be a bit pro-active this winter and get a rewound replacement before the next season.. don't want problems happening during the summer like last season : )
