I noticed the other day the slip on is on sale. I know they have changed the material the can is made of to prevent the spliting that some have experienced. Are there any other complaints?

Only complaints so far have been from the neighbors. It's loud as hell without the insert. Sounds awesome to me though. And as Swalker stated, it works great with the Erik Buell Racing ECM. I don't regret the purchase one bit.

It can have clearance issues with the rear swing arm under some configurations...

I've had one for a while, and FMF has the packing issue sorted out now. They are using a stainless steel wool and it holds up well.

I've gone through a couple of mid-pipes as well, but the situation has been remedied there as well by using a slightly thicker material at the mount points.

I think for an ordinary street rider there's nothing to worry about. After working with FMF, I had mine to the point where it was holding up to regular track and race abuse, and doing well.

As mentioned, it's very loud, but sounds pretty neat. I get lots of compliments.

BrAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!

How often are you having to repack the pipe?

I've not had to repack at all after the move to SS wool as the first layer of packing material. Mine has tens of track days on it plus races.

Previously, the old packing would have been blown out in around 5 full track days. FMF has really put some effort into the pipe for our bikes, and it seems pretty stable now.

Again, I'm almost 100% sure I run mine way harder than you run yours. Mine is purely track/race and is absolutely abused upon.

On FMF website they are offering 20% off threw January. It saves over hundred bucks on slip on from regular price.

I love mine. Sounds sweet, looks great, and puts an ear to ear grin on my face every time I whack the throttle. I too am running the Erik Buell Racing race ECM and a K & N filter. This is a crisp and responsive system and installs easily with a great fit. 1st FMF purchase for me since my dirt bike days, and I am impressed and pleased. I will definitely buy FMF again. And it's 100% built in the USA!

I have had some clearance problems but the problem was easily solved by adding a bushing and replacing the bolt by a longer one. It does not scrape anymore but the next problem was the carbon can splitted in half. I received the Titanium can under warranty from FMF. GREAT service from FMF. If the winter has cleared europe I'll will be able to enjoy the sound and looks of the FMF again. My neighbours probably won't agree.
