on heated gloves, specifically im thinking of battery operated gloves, so as not to put a strain on m/c battery.

Gloves don't put any noticeable strain on the charging system, they don't draw enough watts. Even at idle, I can barely see the draw from my *jacket*. I wouldn't worry (and I run heated gear on all my Buells, from my '09 CR and her '09 Blast, back to my '95 S2).

No experience with heated gloves but I do have symtec grip heaters on mine and I love them. They install on the bar and you just slip your grip over them. Work great with my normal gloves. Pretty inexpensive too.
