Any recommendations for some decent handguards that actually block wind?

This would be fine on a CR, but will it even work on an R?

I think the problem you will run into with hand guards on the R is that they will foul the clearance for the bars not hitting the fairing.

I have my levers almost all the way out, and the ball of the lever will hit the edge of the fairing at full lock in either direction.

heated gloves?
why do you need guards on your bike?
you run single track through trees?
lane split and twenty over traffic flow?
I took the guards of my ully want to buy them?

Thinking handguards would be viable instead of the cost of heated gloves and tapping into the electrical system. I have decent "winter" gloves and was thinking of handguards for wind deflection. Used to ride in the woods--just north of Houston is the Sam Houston National Forest and there are miles of wicked trails.

I got a set of symtec grip heaters. You install them onto your bars and slip any grip you want over them. They work really good and I have not had any problems with the extra current draw. Not bad for about $25. Keeps my hands toasty without having to wear bulky gloves. The fairing already does a great job of blocking wind

I have guards on my CR and honestly, they do very little to block the wind, certainly not enough to keep my hands warm.

Hand guards will do next to nothing for the cold. They do help, but if cold is your enemy, heated grips/gloves are your friend. Due to the fairing, there are no guards I know of that will fit an R.

HIPPO HANDS!!!!

X2 I run some Bagmans (same thing) as soon as the temps get below 35 degrees. They work great but take a little getting used to.
