I just got a call today from a dealer saying that there was a recall on the stator for my 09 CR. Has anyone else gotten a call? I asked if I would be receiving a recall letter and they said they didn't think so.

According to www.recalls.gov, the only recall on the 2009 1125CR is the cam chain tensioner.

Either this is so new it hasn't made it to the wesbite yet, and nobody on here knows it either, OR - your dealer is mistaken the wiring harness program as a recall.

I'm betting it's the harness upgrade.

NOTHING HAVING TO DO WITH THE STATOR IS A RECALL.

It is a Product Improvement Campaign, it is voluntary (both for the owner to get it done, and for Buell to offer it in the first place), and it is a very good idea to get it done.

And that is where I will stop typing for fear of turning this into another "what kind of oil is good" thread

Your dealer has provide you with inaccurate information.

In the event of a recall there are a host of mandated procedures that MUST be followed.

You can become wiser than your HD dealer by going to the ODI (Office of Defects Investigation) and learning more.

Study it closely, become knowledgeable.

In the event of a recall ALL the correspondence, including a good deal of research and data leading up to the recall, and the manufactures written plan are there . . . as required . . in full public view.

Your dealer lacks knowledge.

Aspire higher.
