Tq_freak - 'first notice I am at 6666 miles. Think to myself "that cant be good" ' LOL!
welcome to the club. I had my CR stator replaced at 2200 miles. I have almost 3500 miles on the new stator (5600 total) and only a few tense moments last July in the heat and in traffic. Seems to be holding up.

It's not a very exclusive club unfortunately.

There were 8,938 1125 buell's made in a world with a population of 6,697,254,041. Buell owners represent < 1% of the world population. Buell stator failures are less than the entire population of 1125's.

exclusive? yes.

There is also only 15 redhead girls with a pimple exactly 3 inches south and 15 degrees west of the right teet. Excluisve? yes. Desirable? not necessarily.

Just like they want to get rid of the pimple, we want to find out why these stators are burning, and if there is more then 1, 2, 3 or 15 (which it definitely is) then it means something is not right.

Mac, good analogy using the pimpled girls ... Ick, but it makes the point. My stator gave it up last Friday with 3,112 miles on the clock; '09 1125R.

Turns out there's at least one other one at the same dealer where mine goes, and maybe two? I'm not bashing anyone, but I wouldn't call these isolated incidents.

So here is a question, anyone got a high mileage 09 1125, unmodded, that hasn't had a stator failure?

I figure mine survived because all the miles I put on before the "fix" were in cold weather (it was 21F one day when I rode to work...). 2000 miles since the 'fix, 200 miles so far after replacing the voltage regulator, and voltage varies between 13.7 and 14.2. It seems to be independent of rpm, at least under 6,000. Today was about 98F, engine was pretty hot, but showed 14.1 at all the stoplights I caught.

Anyone on the inside know if parts required for the stator replacement are available?

Yea, lost my stator doing a track day at 10,200 miles, still under warranty so when the new stator comes in it will get fixed.
