Really REALLY glad you're OK.

Ground clearance with the D&D is a known thing. I even emailed them about it when Higbee was considering it (they wanted to be a sponsor way back when) - and I think they hope to sell to drag-racers or timid street riders, not to anybody who EVER plans on turning right.

Dang and DOUBLE DANG - that is the prettiest paint on any bike out there too!

Glad you're ok, I'm guessing you're gonna need a new pipe now.

That was one of the nicer looking paint jobs too. : (

Sucks! Sorry.

Does anyone know if the lower pegs from the Ulysses will drag?

I've been reposting your videos and pictures on some other forums I frequent, it's an eye popping paint job. Glad you are okay. Dumb and Dumber exhaust should market only to Harlies and Riceposers. guys like you that actually use their bikes prove what a POS those cans are.

Good luck on the repairs and keep on racing.

Jeez - it never occurred to me that it might collapse into the brake lever like that.. I mean, I knew it was a sh*t pipe for on the track and/or spirited riding but that's just stupidly dangerous.

What's the pipe marketed as? If it's a race pipe you probably do have grounds to claim compensation as its not fit for purpose..

I've always thought that D&D pipes were trash, so no surprise on this one.

Sorry to hear, Rob !

I have ground off the lower plastic belt guard on the left side, but my FMF pipe has never (yet) touched on the right.

MotoPorts appear to work as advertised!

Sorry to the thread starter they had to be proved this way tho...

I wonder if anyone here would be posting the word "lawsuit" if they did not...something to think about.

Either I was very lucky, or the Motoport Kevlar is awesome!. I tend to the latter.
I had a very similar crash on a Ninja 250 in turn 4 on the big track when I was first racing, wearing full leather (front end washout due to bad throttle control). I ended up with road rash on my arm where the seam split open, a bruise from my calf to my ass due to no armor in back and a broken hand from the hard armor on the back of my glove.

This crash - nothing, nada, ziltch. I was too busy watching my bike to realize it at the moment, but when I came to a stop in the dirt, I realized that I had not felt a thing. The Quad Armor in the Motoport suit is amazing! Virtually 0 energy transfer. Yes it does not look as cool as leathers, but I am too old to worry about anything but the best protection possible. I get a lot of smirks at the track about my suit. Yesterday everybody stopped smirking.

Racing is inherently dangerous. A lawsuit would not make it past summery judgment.

Pics from first crash in full leathers. Forgive the ass. For educational use only.
I was completly unhurt in the latest crash due to my Motoport Kevlar suit so no pics.

Holy crap!! FMF and now D&D are ruled out for aftermarket pipes for me. Hope you heal up quick.

The problem with hard armor is that it is very effective at transferring impact energy into the very thing that it is meant to protect. Yes it is good at spreading the energy out, but now bones are being shattered rather that broken. My hand broke exactly at the edge of the hard shell armor on the back of the glove because the hard armor transferred all of the impact energy into that spot.
Good armor must first absorb energy, then spread it out, then absorb it again before it reaches your tissues.
