I've had charging issues since I purchased the bike(it's an early '08 build, purchased new about 2 weeks ago, just under 700 miles now).

It was in the dealer once already, because I was having cold start issues and my low voltage indicator lamp was always came on within seconds of turning the key to the on position; They said the battery needed to be charged and while my cold start issues are gone(I attribute this to a combination of the battery charge and latest ECM flash), the low voltage indicator problem remains.

I'm fairly positive that my IC needs to be replaced, as I've had my bike refuse to start twice now(when I've forgotten to hook it up to the battery tender) with the IC cluster reading "Low Voltage" and "Theft System Error". I've got a printout of TT396 for this.

Additionally, I believe I may have stator issues as the bike also exhibits warm start issues. I'll drive around for a few hours, stop for a 10-15 minute break(water, bathroom, etc.), and the bike has trouble starting(I can hear it cranking but refuses to start on the first 2 or 3 tries). Is there any documentation related to this issues that I can print and bring to my dealer in addition to TT396 so I can get both issues taken care of simultaneously?

I have exactly the same problem as you are describing it Gbackus. It has been in the shop twice. The first time they just charged the battery and tightened a "connector". But a week later I had the same problem. I can't put the ignition on the "ON" position form more that 15 seconds without draining the battery to the point where it won't start. So for the second time at the dealer, they order the regulator, not the stator. Hopefully this will take care of the problem. My warranty expires in April, so I need to make sure they fix what ever needs to be fixed.

you should ask the dealer to measure the charging voltage while running,

ps. at idle they don't charge that much, i would even say it's still draining the battery

if that's ok,

let theme check the sw version on your speedo,
i'm sure there is a topic some where here about older Sw versions speedo's draining the battery
