All you need the a race license for is the ECM and the exhaust I think

It is in the $450-475 range (don't exactly recall). That is for the belt drive GP shift without the Dyno Jet electronic shift. Seemed a bit pricey to me, so I'm going to try to machine my own.

Utter BS. Questionable design not allowing easy (flip the piece like most Jap bikes) conversion to GP shift compounded by a ridiculously expensive kit.

what exactly is a gp shift? does it turn the shifting one up and 5 down?

Exactly. The idea is you can upshift while leaned way the heck over, without dragging your toe.

also I find it helpful when you are fully tucked and are trying to upshift down the straight. In that position, I find it easier banging upshifts by pressing down on the lever as opposed to trying to get my toe under the lever.
