What on earth does the ecm have to do with the timing chain adjuster.

You're confused.

The latest reflash for the 2008 1125r is for fueling issues.

There is a recall for some of the 2009 1125cr models for the rear timing chain adjuster.

There is a thread on the recall, and tons on the reflash.
