That looks like a good choice for a jaunt down through South America or up to Prudhoe Bay.

I looked at that site last year, I see the Bulldog model is still not in production. that seemed to be a good choice at about 400 pounds wet, 32 HP, and 10 second 0-60 MPH performance. Of course, there was no mention of prices. That might be an issue for me...

We met the Hayes folks - their shop is just an hour away. They're justifiably proud of what they've done.

They have designed a diesel engine which fits into the KLR - it is NOT a slightly modified KLR motor. Amazing piece of work.

They get the VERY used gas-engined KLR's from the USMC and do a total tear-down. The engine uses hardly ANY KLR components except some tranny bits and even the existing crankcases are heavily modified becuase of the new crank and bottom end bearings.

I hope they go into civilian production someday soon!

Not emissions ready just yet but it is coming. They're testing in local roads out here.

Yea, a while back (year +) I was checking these guys out. But Still looks like they are delaying the civilian production. That was the case over a year ago, and at that point from what I have read, they had already delayed it a long while.

I'd be all over that!

Man, if this ever comes out, and you can run homemade biodiesel in it... man, THAT would be awesome!

Ya know, a modern tech diesel really makes sense as a power plant. How many riders really make regular use of a 10,000 plus rpm rev limit? Diesels make power where it counts. Oh, and don't say they don't haul A. Just look at Audi's record for the last several years. 100 mpg would be sweet. Buell oughta hook up with these folks I say.
