I think the most interesting thing I found in this article is that Erik proposed an electric motorcycle to Harley YEARS ago and they rejected it.

They really were a bunch of short-sighted IDIOTS back then, weren't they??

553 ft/lbs of torque!

Yeah baby!! Could be hard to hold onto.

Should be interesting. I suspect there will be more info coming out over time.

that giant torque is managed through the power control system. The motor is CAPABLE of that torque... at first motor turn but imagine more than double a MotoGP bike?! NOPE!

"that giant torque is managed through the power control system."

It will be interesting to see how Erik is able to use that torque. It is an unusual performance spec. Low top speed but very quick.

150 mile range is decent for local rides.

The Fuell Flow represents the thought behind the e-motorcycle design work going on at EBR. You can have either top speed or range, but not both. It's the problem with every electric motorcycle start-up that's trying to do general purpose motorcycles -- it's not technically possible if you want them to go 80-90-100 mph and have a range more than 70 to 80 miles on the highway. It's all about aerodynamic power requirements increasing with the cube of velocity. But if you limit the bike to 55 mph, you can get decent range with a smallish battery and still accelerate like a Tesla P100D.

Spam cleaned up.

Bruce - It is accurate. Most webpages are switching to "HTTPS" at the beginning of their addresses, the short and sweet version of it is that it makes an encrypted connection between you and the website. It used to be just for banking/email and other things along those lines, but now it is the standard. Blake has been trying to get HTTPS to work on Badweb, but it is a bit like converting a car to fuel injection. Not impossible, but not easy either. Browsers are starting to notify users when they visit sites that are "not secure", eventually they will automatically block them but hopefully we got it figured out by then.

Actually did convert my 71 240Z into Fuel Injection, by swapping the 1st wrecked 280Z in Northern Calif, taken for a ride down a hillside, driven by his 17yr old daughter, at 800 miles. Bought the manual, traced entire Engine Electrical system in 5 page foldout in back of factory manual. Came down to Only three wires to wire in, gave that pup Torque, but chopped top speed to 125, adequate for moi's purposes, squirting in & out of Corners, suspension not any rubber bits left, couldn't get my shoulder under the car, put ripples in roof after a bit oh hammering, stuffing BF Goodrich T/A's under it, drove the piss out of it every twisty I could learn about, NorCal and SoCal, Sierras, till moving back to Desert, roads rattled your teeth out. Swapped bodies w/friend, my Engine/Trans/Shifter & knob Steering wheel, seats all went into a 76 Datsun King Cab Prerunner, suspension set up, Big 280ZX brakes all round, dual shocked, raised 1 & 1/2 inches on frame. 12.50 X 15 Norsemans on rear, 10.50s on front, tuned it shifting things around to 50/50 weight distribution, Sideways in & out of Mountain roads like a Sprint Car, up & down the state & Mtns & Desert. Absolute Ball to drive. Parked it when living in mtns, commuting a rollercoaster section of Hwy 78 early morns, no traffic, all lit up w/big Cibies, till got to the point it demanded a Roll cage cuz Rocks, for Sanity, got parked, I got Hurt Mining, it's still in storage down south. Hoping to bring it back up, see about getting rally racing going out where our camp is, perfect, even Finnish, one hyw in & out only, best Dirt/Clay rds ever ridden! Run it 2wd class, clean up.

Of course you made it sound easy!

Technically the HTTPS works on here already, we got it setup but Badweb isn't handling the links properly. If you go to the HTTPS version of the page we are on now ( https://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/25 3912/849450.html?1561692443 ), it should load without any warnings. The problem is all the links are hard coded with HTTP without the S, so the second you click to a different page or post a comment it reverts back. The core of Badweb is over 20 years old, the company that made the forum software is gone, so we are on our own to get it properly sorted out.

It was easy, once traced, of course working USCG Station, that took a week or so after, actual swap, done same day, base hobbie shop, no fault, running since, Stockton Datsun said impossible, just not bothered to look TLDR, i guess. Done here, delete@Will Froggy

Those are pretty weak numbers when you put them up against Zero. I test rode the FRS a few days ago and I Fuell has a pretty steep rode to climb. That FRS is pretty mind boggling. I sure hope Fuell gets there. I’m sold on electric bikes.

Had a chance to test ride the new Zero too, and it is flat out "the" bike in electrics. If I had money to experiment with owning an electric, this would be the one. Range though is still not there to allow any of these to be wandering ride machines. Good secondary and/or in town options. I'm still of the mind that bikes are vehicles for getting lost in the moment and not planning out where I can catch a charge...

I have electric bicycle and I think it is more practical in the city than electric motorcycle because of you can ride thru traffic jam, you can ride on sidewalks, you can ride on dedicated bicycles lines, you can ride it everywhere and you can ride fast. Basically you will be faster in the city on electric bicycle than on electric motorcycle. And electric bicycle is more fun than electric motorcycle too.

https://www.rideapart.com/articles/364388/zero-chr onicles-charging-time-electric-motorcycle/

"...keep in mind that for every hour or hour-and-half of travel you do on an electric bike, it will require roughly two hours of charging..."
