For a couple of year old review, without updates and not considering the black lightning updates, pretty good, and a fair review. It is $4,000 cheaper now as well. One factor they didn't mention, which makes a difference for short people: half an inch less seat height and narrow saddle. The KTM is giant in comparison. | ||

That KTM looks awesome. Honestly, if I had to pick a bike to ride just for one weekend, I'd probably take the KTM. If I was picking a bike to buy and keep, without a doubt it'd be the EBR. My XB is the only bike I regret having ever sold, and my S1 is 20 years old now and still makes me happier than any new bike ever has. The KTM is an awesome bike, and is definitely ahead of the technology curve at this point, but the problem with those bikes, is as soon as something new comes out, they're obsolete. An EBR/Buell has so much personality and history to it, that they just don't get "old". I'd enjoy owning the 1190SX or the KTM new, but I feel like the 1190SX is the only one that I'd still enjoy owning just as much 10 years later. I understand a motorcycle magazine has no way to rate a bike other than weight, HP, features, and how well the suspension and throttle works, and when you work at a magazine and get unlimited access to every new bike and endless time on a track, they're just not going to look at bikes the same as someone who saves for a bike, and buys it with the intention of keeping it long term, spending time in the garage working on it, and taking pride in it being "my bike". | ||
