EBR. I took an 1190 SX for an extended demo ride. It felt right.

In case you hadn't noticed, Aprilia doesn't have the most wide ranging dealer network, either

Be happy boys, you at least will be able to get parts! Of course owning a new bike without any warranty does leave a sour taste, but being without spare parts is a true disaster.

I love the Aprilia ...... But would BUY the EBR.

No motorcycle company in history ..... Has ever so intimately involved the owner in the workings, both good and bad, of the company and the founder.

Erik is honest, genuine and I always know ..... In his heart..... He's doing everything he can to keep his, and our, dream alive.

I'd rather be down with Erik Buell and have the total involvement experience than up with another manufacturer.

I like lots of bikes .... Eyeballing 2 this summer ..... But the Buell will always be the center of my 2-wheel universe.

Regarding Erik's health, he told me that he's dealing with a back problem that will require surgery soon. He was publicly discussing this at the show. I'm dealing with similar issues and understand how this contributes to a more frail looking state. I wish him good luck and a speedy recovery.

which would you choose?

EBR- Why? F@#king America, That's why.
Seriously though, I have been riding for over 40 years now. Never felt anything close to my Buell out of the box.

I'd choose the EBR. No contest.

If you knew Erik, and Steve Anderson, and so many of the other wonderful folks that are fighting to keep the dream of an American super bike alive, you would to.

+1 on EBR.
Bought my S2 in '94, for the fact that it was made in the USA. I later added a couple more to the stable, because of the joy got from each one in turn. I wouldn't consider anything else, unless I didn't have the choice of a Buell design!

Again, the EBR for exactly the reasons that Court stated. I'm sticking with the XB and the 1190 for as long as I can keep them on the road. I can't stomach the thought of riding anything else... The passion just isn't there.

Need a full on touring machine. Something like an Ultra Limited or Ultra Classic done the Buell way.

So nothing like the Ultra then, right?

There's enough baggers out there.

Now, a new S2T on the other hand....mini fairing, full bags, liquid cooled, ABS, TC, GPS, heated everything, power ports galore, belt drive, ZTL2...THAT would take my money.

I was just at the Chicago IMS this last Friday and I noticed a lot of smaller cc motorcycles being made by the manufacturers! I always said if my Ulysses would have had a 900 cc motor, I would like it even more! If I was purchasing a new motorcycle today, I think the Triumph Bonnieville would be my choice.

This update from LAP was posted to one of the EBR Facebook groups this weekend. They are touting that EBR has new designs on the drawing boards, reiterating comments made by Erik during the closure:

to my knowledge none of the old EBR dealers have been contacted yet by LAP asking them if they wish to continue being an EBR dealer. I know I have not and have had to let my dealers license lapse as I needed a manufacturer to put down on the paper and EBR is not registered with the state anymore.

Dan- A guy on one of the EBR Facebook groups posted that his dealership had been contacted last (?) week, and that the caller mainly asked questions rather than giving answers. The caller said they were trying to contact 2 or 3 dealerships a day. I'll try and find the post tonight and quote what was posted.

I should have been more clear. yes I have talked to LAP and was asked those same type of questions but they had nothing to say as far as selling EBRs.

I was told at the show that Hal's HD (I think to be expected) is still on board, and in south Chicago, Motorcycle Center did not drop EBR and would be remaining a dealer.

They are now _able_ to reach back out to dealers and are making those efforts. Come on - they've been on a lock down until this blew over. Don't have to like it, but their hands were quite squarely tied I'm sure.
