I try to keep quiet on this list for a number of reasons but would like to state a few things as I know them.
First I am not selling my XBRR. Walt is going to race it again at Daytona and a few selected AMA races. The RR for sale was our #2 bike that belongs to Blue Springs HD. We are building a XB12R for Walt to race in ASRA.He will also be racing the Bison RR in the classes it is legal in CCS.
All this is due to a number of factors, with the biggest one being that while I am comfortable financially I am not wealthy and cannot support our AMA effort as it needs to be.(Anyone want to be a partner and have your name on the bikes?). In my opinion the top 10 in FX is not attainable unless factory supported and I am not referring to Buell. No one can compete at that level without millions and factory support. To the best of our ability we will be competing with the Bison XBRR and Bison XB12R in the 08 season.Walt might be better at this time to give a more specific schedule.

Thanks for chiming in and setting me straight Bison.

Sorry, I saw Walt's name attached to an ad and assumed it was the bike your team had been racing.
My mistake. Like I've said before, if I'm wrong call me on it and I'll be first to admit
I was at fault if it can be backed up (like in this case). I learn more from having one of
my incorrect statements corrected than I do from making correct ones.

Other than that we are in complete agreement about FX and what it will take to keep up with the
japanese contingent.

While the XBRR will still be a viable platform in regional racing and even ASRA/WERA/MOTO-ST
how long will it remain so?

This is not a very good analog, but there are still racers in the lightweight classes on Kawasaki
EX500 race bikes but the machine is far past it's competetive "window". That doesn't mean that
those guys aren't working their butts off to race them, it just means that the machine has been
surpassed by others in the field.

Racing demands a fairly quick evolution of the machines where weight/hp formulas are not part
of the rules. It's one of the reasons the XB has been able to stay successful in thunderbike
because the chassis is such a great design and the motor is quite capable of putting down
the power needed, although if you exceed that level of power by much you are playing with fire
even doing sprint races.

I expect to see several teams racing superbike on 1125r race bikes assuming the rules changes
that are happening in WSB and AMA are adopted in WERA,CCS, and ASRA regarding water cooled
twin displacement. Anyone want to guess how long it will be before we see an 1199 kit for them
to take full advantage of? I'm guessing Hal's is already testing one.

Brian
No need to apologize. I agree with everything you said other than what I already said concerning Walt's and my situation.

I started this thread a while back to spark this very discussion, I am a Buell fanatic in every sense of the word after getting cancer for a third time in 20 years I decided I had better not wait any longer and picked up an XB12R. I have gone through 2 racing schools and hold an ASRA/CCS Lic (#241),I have no sponser and have not run my 1st race yet but hope too in the spring. I am what you would call low budget in every sense and I can tell you my dream is to one day be able to afford to race a Buell at Daytona before cancer catches me again. I am old and slow but I have allot of heart and some day I hope to live long enough to take an "RR" out and crack that throttle till she squeals! But I am like many other small time guys out there that don`t have the funds to get an "RR" but I hope they keep building them so one day maybe I can afford one. I have ridden the 1125R and was impressed with its performance but it just does not have the heart of the "Beast". I know the 1125 is faster and cheaper but again the RR has more heart. All I can add is to say thanks for building bikes that don`t follow the rules and have allot of heart.

I appreciate that Bison, but it's important to me. I claim my mistakes as well as my victories.

It keeps things in perspective.

Maybe this next year at home coming it will look more like a scene from “Biker boys” and the NAACP will all be on 1125’s. Yea, I know that sounds RACIST, especially me being from the “SOUTH” and all, but bring your happy little “OPEN Minded Butts” down here and find yourself off in the right crowd and you will see who the “REAL HATERS” are. Go round up your local “GANGS” today and see if you spot any “Italians” in the crowd. Maybe all of us “Harley” boys should just stay home next year. Most white guys I live around won’t buy a sport bike because of not being accepted in “THAT” crowd around here. Hell, it is worst than any Harley group you will ever ride up into. I personally liked the crowd I found up there at this last years Homecoming and don’t want to see that go away with a bunch of the same old “Biker-Boys-Gangstar-Wanna-Be” crowd prevalent down here with the sport bike crowd replacing them.

Oh holy crap.....that's funny stuff. You mean that you don't want Buells to be showcased on Stuperbikes either. Damn, I was fixin to buy a 'Busa and a do-rag too....Oh well.

A rider from Florida is going to run an RR at the BUB motorcycle meet in September, in class 1350-MPS-PG the record he is running against is 168.219 Good luck.

I spent some time going thru the run sheets from the Bub meet and team ammo can's XBRR ran a best one way speed of 173.985. The best speed by an 1125 was 161.623 and I understand and it looks to be very stock. I can see an 1125 on the other side of 200 soon.
