XBRR thread fell into the archives in the XBoard. I moved it to the Racing topic under the road racing subtopic.

My 97 S1 is pouring fuel out of the carb... any ideas? It just started doing it, but every so often after I rode for a while shut it down for a bit then tried to take off it would stall when I let the clutch out. Dont know if that means anything but help would be greatly appreciated. The carb is stock as is the intake.

Step 1. turn off the petcock, remove the air filter assembly, and check the little inlet elbow to see if your's has the plastic bit that may have cracked and may be leaking like it was on my '95 S2.

Step 2. if this is not it and if by pouring you meaning flowing freely then identify where the flowage is coming from. You could have a stuck needle, a sunk float, grit between the needle and needle seat, or something else.

Step 3. Remove the carb and go through it replacing any parts that seem suspect. Might as well slip in a fresh set of needles while you're in there, and check the intake seals.

Step 4. the footsteps you hear approaching are from Blake who is about to yell at us to keep this type of dialog in the proper knowledge vault sub category section.

Hope this helps in some way.

Mike thanks! I will put your advice to good use.
Blake my sincerest apologies, I am new to the board and realised my mistake only after posting my original message. I have since posted my question in its proper place.

Hanging my head in shame........

Marc -- just sos' your not in dutch on by yourself . . . . .

gently tap the float bowl with a scfrewdriver handle -- this sometimes frees a stuck float, knock loose the small piece of crud in the needle vales, or satisfies the fuel dieties --

I am covered in ribbonos of shame for posting this here ;-}

If YOU hate it, what is the moose thinking.

I'm not sure why you would want to put a bib on a moose.

Gotta say, yesterday's went in better than the four I did for Dakar. Those took three of us, 2-1/2 hours to do.....
Yesterday I did two on my own in an hour or so.
Still hate it. Wish I could find someone around here that I could pay to do it.

Well after seeing the contest on the Badweb, I decided to enter the Buell Tourist Trophy Design Contest. I spent a few days (2 weeks) coming up with a design that I would like to see in a helmet. I submitted it and well I logged on today and saw it actually made it to the TOP 10. Out of these Top 10, the winner will have his design produced into a helmet and the Grand Prize winner (as picked by a Buell Rep, Erik himself will win a new Firebolt. Here is my design...if you like it...log on and vote and help a true Buell lover win a great machine. Sorry it makes you register to vote. It's painless though.

1. www.playstation.com
2. Click on events/promotions
3. Click on promotions on the left bar

Here is the entry paragraph I submitted with my design...

Hello,
Attached is my original design for the Buell motorcycle helmet. I enjoyed the numerous hours I spent working on this project and would love a chance to have Erik himself judge my artwork (if I get lucky enough to make the top 10). I currently own an 03 Buell Lightning XB9 and can’t express how much I love every aspect of this machine. These bikes are definitely “different in every sense” and no other bike I ever rode makes you feel like part of the machine like the Buell.

My helmet design is based on what I personally would love to wear and see on the street or track. I’m not crazy about the custom airbrushed designs or the common tribal striped looks that take up much of the current market. I like the more subtle approach with an Erik Buell flair such as the colors of the frame and the amber highlights on the XB12, the “Own the corners” slogan, the Buell Pegasus wings on the side, and the technology display of the Buell patents on the back. Yes those obscure numbers are the 3 patents Buell owns for the fuel in the frame, ZTL brakes and under slung muffler. These are just a few of the aspects designed into the helmet to compliment the bike. I think this helmet design is something Erik would find suitable for the Buell brand. Thanks

Sincerely,

Shandon Walker

Good morning all you creative Buellers! I have a project in mind...well it started being MY project, but being the creatively challenged individual that I am, I decided to see if someone here would like to help me with it.

The mission is as follows, if you should choose to take it:
Cycle Rama has a 100+ Horsepower club(with a lot of members). We also have a 150+ Horsepower club(with quite a few members). I need a T-shirt design/idea for each.

The prize for the (chosen)T-shirt design that flips my lid would be: A free T-shirt(of course) and idea/designers name in a descreet location within the design on the shirt. Or you never know what prizes I might come up with, 'cause This idea was just put into my head last night.

I know you guys and dolls won't let me down(you never do). I am always amazed at the level of enthusiasm and professionalism of the folks on this board.

Come on, I know you can do it!

Pammy,
Ping me off line and I'll give you all the info on the T-shirt folks I used for Fireman Jim's Aussy shirt.
Same folks Court uses....
Great to work with and very reasonable prices.

Bart,

This is a good page for stuff that does not have a more appropriate or specific topic. There is some guidance on using the non-KV topics at the top of this page.

What happened to the Quick Board topic with the Ford ads?

Hmm so two old Ford ads and this link http://www.xs4all.nl/~jvdkuyp/flash/see.htm
are enough to get a Quick Board topic pulled but not enough to get a response from whoever pulled it?

Threads about a Buell racing tshirt not available from any sponsor get pulled but out-right ads from non-sponsors are fine?

Still have the 96 S2T for sale, check out the photo in my profile; this is an excellent bike for a very fair price. For personal reasons it must go.
