I am starting to get worried when an US / Danish Doc starts trying to talk "strine".
That could be construde as crossing one to many international borders.

I understand your concern considering I don't even know what Strine is ... : )

On that note, I think you'd get a kick out of reading The Last Continent by Terry Pratchett.

There is somthing about a world , resting on the back of Elphants, standing on a jet powered Turtle flying through space that appeals.

Strine: To speak in an Australian voice.

Best acchived with a slab of tinies and a meat pie on the beach, with a bunch of mates called Bruce

Well the kids are growing up,The bills are paid up and the boss (wife) say's I can GO! I am loading the
S3T in my truck and leaving Michigan on 3/8/06 and driving south until it gets warm enough to ride.
The goal is to see as much of the racing as possible and put some miles on the BUELL.(IBA member I ride A LOT )
I have not been to Daytona in 25 years so any input will be appreciated. Can I get in the pits ? Things to see? I read somewhere they look for corner workers to work the race? I don't have a motel yet? Any Buell or BRAG events going on?

Thanks Jack

No, Bjørn Stronginthearm is a Discworld reknowned crossbow manufacturer based in Ank Morpork. He's a dwarf and I believe his family may originate from Übervald : )

The biggest city is Ankh-Morkpork. It's a real melting pot -- that is, it bubbles all the time and strange things float to the surface. This is a big city reminiscent of NYC, where you think we've locked all the monsters outside, and then turned around and found they're right in there, with you.

Greg don't mention the Klacks. Court has enough to come to terms with at work without trying to understand the next Big thing in Communications.

Wouldnt NYC be a safer place with Commander Vimes of The Watch as Police Commissioner??

Of course, the question then would be "safer for who??"

Nullus Anxietas

I just got to that spot in The Last Continent - absolutely fantastic writing. Always good to read a writer who's capable of putting a different - if rather odd - spin on things. Also good to have to hit the dictionary once in awhile.

NYC with commander Vimes - if not safer, then certainly quite a bit more entertaining : D

Had the 06 XBSs out for a nice ride yesterday. Still in the break in period, so I wasn't riding too hard. I got an urge...rolled the throttle in 3rd gear, up came from the front wheel...put it down quick, as I knew I was passed the recommended rpm range. Wow, didn't know it would come up so easily. I don't generally do wheelies, but it's nice to know it has more power than I generally use. I am sliding off my chair as I type this in anticipation to ride it again.

Let me tell y'all something about Buell owners: We (they) are a unique bunch. To paraphrase, "There are no strange Buell owners, just friendly folk I haven't met yet!"
On Saturday, I was minding the store when I noticed a fellow standing at the window with a riding suit on. He was getting a cup of coffee. I looked passed him to the street, and parked next to my KTM was a not-nearly-as-orange-as-a-KTM Ulysses!
"Where'd ya buy the Uly?" I asked.
"Florida"
"Lakeland, by any chance?" (that would be too weird!)
"No, Ocala."
"D'ya live down there?"
"No, Lynchburg..."(about 40 miles away)
I told him I was looking at the Uly, but hadn't made up my mind, nor had I ridden one.
"Do you want to take mine for a ride?"
"You're kidding..... really?"
"No problem; I'll drink my coffee and have a cig..."
Needless to say, I didn't turn him down! I told him I had a (broken) S-3 as I was getting my gear on, and told him that I'd be back shortly. I ran it up Rt. 60 almost to the Blue Ridge Parkway then back down again, about twenty minutes.
My wife called the shop while I was gone, and she was told by our girl that I had taken off on a guy's bike, and that I didn't even know his name!
It was a nice ride; I was impressed with the Uly, but more impressed with Chris Baker (as I found he was named), trusting soul...
He's lurked on Badweb; I suggested that he go ahead and register. He'll appear soon, if he hasn't already!
He's new to the Buell world; I filled him in on some of the main characters in this on-going theatre production. (Be gentle with him!)
