Suffering from post-laguna Seca blues. What an incredible weekend. What an iconic circuit.

I would have sworn there were more people there than last year, but the attendance figures say the same number of spectators within a couple hundred. They advertised it for the first time pretty hard (billboards, commercials on local cable channels) with no results apparently. That sucks. Its hard to get people off the couch I guess.

I think I am getting the Ducati Supersport S after seeing first at the IMS show a year and a half ago and then on Ducati Island. Need test ride to make sure it's not too down on power and doesn't smash my nuts with the kinda pointy gas tank.

Did anyone catch Hannah's interview with Valentin DeBise after the SuperSport race? Think beIN Sports might invest in a tape delay system next time?

Yeah, heard it live. I like Valentin kinda. He seems ok in interviews, but he's a prick on the bike. I see him bomb pit lane, passing the backmarkers who are going a sane speed into pit lane. Also same thing I have seen him do going into the impound area after a race. Not a fan of that kind of stuff. Actions speak louder than words?

Have to find a few more seconds a lap to actually start racing Tony Jaime! Moving in the right direction.
See you in Pittsburg

Well, he had a little taste of it when Tony dropped to the back of the pack and had to work his way forward again. : )

That would be great. He's good enough. I hope his ride in WSBK has competitive electronics engineer..unfortunately, electronics is probably as critical as the rider these days.

It's very discouraging seeing Jake and PJ at the bottom of the finishing order week after week (although they usually finish in the points they're MILES from the podium).

Jake's factory team finally switched over to the Magnetti-Marelli system everybody else is using. PJ's team is new, but they started with those electronics.

Camier is demonstrating what is possible; just hope the two Americans can catch up. Seeing Beaubier on a Yamaha would be very interesting. He did okay (but not remarkable) in his wildcard appearance last year as I recall.

Well, I bought my tickets for the Pittsburgh round next month. Unfortunately, I will be attending this event by CAR, as I will not be fully recovered from my recent motorcycle accident. I should be walking (perhaps with the assistance of a cane) by then. Anybody else going? I'll definitely be looking for Tim and Max to wish them luck.

We'll be staying at the MicroTel in Beaver Falls, same as last year.

Does anyone know what happened to Valentin Debise at the start of the race, and Jake Lewis at the end?

Nice to see Geoff May back and finishing in the top 10!

Miller produces some crappy ass racing. I slept thru some of the Race 1 Supersport, so maybe there was some exciting stuff in there, but the Superbike Race 1 was a complete snoozer.

I wonder what the attendance is like in Utah?

You must've slept through the last lap fight between Beaubier and Elias, then. I agree about Supersport; JD was never really challenged by Hayden. It would've been interesting to see what would've been different if deBise hadn't dropped out at the start. Still haven't heard what happened to him.

Well DeBise certainly fought JD hard on Sunday. Toni wasn't nearly as successful against Cameron, though. Once he crashed out, the drama switched to the final two podium positions.

Nice little piece on Max Flinders and I even got a glimpse of a very familiar mustache too. Glad he was able to remount and keep his point-scoring run alive.

Did any of you catch the video of Herrin's crash in Sunday's practice session? Holy crap, that will definitely NOT buff out!

Next stop: Sonoma

Debise had a trans shifting issue that didn’t show up until ghe warm up lap and pulled out. Herrin’s bike was not repairable after it cartwheeled itself into destruction.
See you at Sonoma!!

TV said Debise had a micro leak in either the coolant or oil system that didn't show up until the warm up lap. He noticed and pulled off.

I will tell you I am looking to purchase the AStars inflatable riding jacket after seeing Herrin walk away from that get off!

He said he would have broken something for sure because of the impact, but his inflatable suit made it feel like he fell on a cushion. Now THAT's a good testimonial!

I've been looking at those recently. I guess $1800 up front could save thousands in medical care.

I know first hand experience $1800 is a bargain compared to medical bills and rehab..or your life perhaps. Some injuries are permanent as well, so you might live but you will not be the same. I had a Grade III separation of my shoulder (whatever the one is where the ligaments completely tear) and I would GLADLY pay $1,800 to get my old shoulder back..but of course it doesn't work that way.

I honestly think an airbag jacket might have saved my shoulder and part of my thinking is another similar blow to my shoulder would be pretty devastating (so this is a big part of my possible upgrade to the Astars jacket.)

right after the Herrin testimonial, Greg White of all people left us with a pearl of wisdom--"Get the best riding gear you can afford." He's right.

I just wish my current Astars jacket didn't fit my like it was tailor made for me...and I didn't drop 5 bills on it not too long ago. : (

Sadly, I don't know WHAT would've helped having my left leg slammed by two tons of German automobile. All I can say is I'm glad it was at surface street speeds and he made a last minute change of direction before he hit me. My Rev-It jacket, Alpinestar gloves, Nolan helmet and Firstgear boots saved everything that hit the pavement; they just couldn't do anything about the car that hit me.

Damn. The last of the Hayden brothers decides to hang it up after this season:

Will Jake Lewis get his factory seat back? Or is there someone else in line?

That doesn't surprise me one bit. Roger's heart hasn't been in it since his brother died....and he's not real competitive on a factory bike.

2 12th place finishes for Max on his #88 Thrashed bike racing Yamaha R1 superbike at Sonoma. Beaubier owns this place for sure. Next up Pittsburgh!
