Maverick did one hell of a job.

My wife has her yearly dollar on him to take the championship this time around.

Zarco, Mon Dieu!!

Definitely need to keep an eye on him, too. Could be the first Tech3 rider to stand on the top step of the podium!

What a strange race. Only two factory teams finished in the points. Yamaha at 1 & 2, and KTM at 14 & 15...

At least Iannone finished the race, but outside of the points. Both factory Hondas, factory Ducatis and Alex Rins (Suzuki) all crashed out.

Marquez was walking away with this race, too bad he dumped it.

Maverick did a good job though. I'm happy to see him win again, that's got to be a huge confidence booster.

COTA will be interesting to see... Marc owns it, but Maverick is on fire.

The funny thing is, Marquez was going just as fast in the beginning as the three finishers did several laps later with Vinales eventually lapping even faster. He is understandably confused as to why he crashed. He wasn't alone either; Pedrosa crashed in almost the exact same spot a couple of laps later.

It will be interesting seeing Vinales and Marquez in a head-to-head battle though. It "kinda-sorta" happened in Qatar but then again, not really. COTA should be interesting indeed. It's been a "Honda Track" since its inception and Marquez practically owns it, but the current Honda appears to be struggling and Maverick has really gelled with the Yamaha.

It's an "All-Honda" front row for Jerez, and Pedrosa has been on FIRE so far leading every practice session and taking pole. Marquez second and Crutchlow completes the front row.

Vinales is fastest Yamaha in fourth, Rossi on the third in seventh next to his old team mate in eighth.

Rossi's ego blurred his judgement at LeMans. He chose to race Vinales like it was the last race and the winner would take the title....He made a mistake that Vinales-Marquez at 24 years old were supposed to make.... So far this year Rossi showed his mature side that would settle for point instead of risking a crash chasing the win.... And it worked ! He was at #1 in the championship up to Lemans.... But his ego messed everything.

For me I wish Pedrosa wins the title this year by just winning Jerez and scoring points in every race, while the rest of the top riders are crashing out of races trying to prove they are the "top dog"... Maybe Sete Gibernau's advice and experience has helped Danni to see things with more calm ...

For me Zarco is the rider that I support now..... The last rider that showed so much speed on a satelite bike was Casey Stoner in 2006.... We all know what happened next ......
Zarco is clearly an underdog that had to fight and make many sacrificies to reach this level, while being French meant that Italian and Spanish sponsor did not promote him to the best teams. Even Suzuki made the HUGE mistake to choose Rins over Zarco... Suzuki actually played a bad game to Zarco and left him with no ride, although they had shook hands.... they chose Rins......

Ego? Nah, he just wanted the honor of claiming Yamaha's 500th GP victory. He also wanted to dedicate the win to Nicky.

Wheelies at 215mph, unbelievable! Dovioso's tank slapper at over 200 mph the man must drink testosterone for breakfast!
Ducati desmodromic - what incredible horsepower!
What a race!

2 in a row for Dovi!

Marc crashed 5 times and tripped over himself in the pit, but showed up strong and finished 2nd.

DORNA seems to know very well what they are doing.

1. The "common electronics" package for all the teams (factory+satelite), gives every rider a chance to show their speed.... Zarco and Folger are incredible....Also Aprilia once they solve their reliability will get some very good results. The gap between teams and manufacturers has closed.

2. Michelin brings tires that ALL work in every track. Riders make their choice depending on their style and race strategy.

What happened to Suzuki and Iannone ? The guy cannot score a top 15 place... Suzuki is really lost !

Gigi Dalignia of Ducati is a true legend, in my book...... He brought 3 WSBK titles for Aprilia, and it now looks that he will bring a motoGP title for Ducati in the next years..... For sure he is the greatest manager.... He kept Dovi, instead of Iannone, then he signed Lorenzo.... He signed Stoner as a test rider... He set up those private tests in Mugello and Barcelona and he used Stoner and Pirro together with Dovi and Lorenzo for the tests .... It looks like that when Ducati uses Stoner for private tests in tracks a few days before the race, they go and they win the race... It hapenned last year too in Austria, Ducati scored 1-2 ... This year Dovi won both races, and he said that he was not pushing 100% in Barcelona !

I wish Dovi wins this title this year ! What a great, low profile rider ! What a story that will be for motoGP !

The story with Suzuki and Iannone is similar to the problem Ducati had with Stoner. In Vinales, they had a rider that could make the Suzuki look a lot better than it was. Stoner did the same with the Ducati. Now that Maverick has switched to Yamaha Suzuki is a little lost in the woods. As good as Iannone is, he's NO Maverick Vinales.

Aleix Espargaro was regularly in the top 10, and sometimes top 6 on the Suzuki... It was not just Vinales.....

Iannone future in motoGP does not look good at the moment..

Aleix is probably the most under-rated rider in the paddock. I remember when the Forward team was racing one of the CRT Yamahas... he was faster in testing than most of the factory riders.

Although most of the team managers were rather upset that the open Yamaha was so fast, Livio Suppo was more realistic: "Our problem isn't the open class Yamaha... our problem is Espargaro on the Open Class Yamana."

From what I've been reading... Iannone's behavior behind the scenes isn't endearing himself to Suzuki's management either...
